Emily Parker didn't speak, her gaze fixed on the bar not far away—there were a dozen or so uniquely styled masks there, some with delicate lace, others with vintage feathers. It seemed they were for guests to use during the club's dances.
She quickly walked over, casually picked out two masks that covered most of the face, and turned to hand one to Maria Carter: "Put this on to draw less attention. Let's try to get close to the private room first to see what's going on inside, then figure out a way to rescue Liliana."
Just as Emily finished speaking, a soothing dance tune started playing in the ballroom, and the lights became dimmer and more shadowy.
Silhouettes swayed in the dance floor. Emily discreetly adjusted her direction, eyes fixed on the bar, slowly inching towards it during the opportunity of a turn.
