Northwest of Shu, Yong'an Prefecture, outside a certain county town below, along a mountain path, there sits an abandoned temple. It was a small temple built spontaneously by traveling merchants passing through in earlier years, meant for resting and praying for safety. But as the main roads became more accessible, this small temple was soon abandoned, left to sway in the wind and rain on a desolate mountain, with only two crumbling rooms remaining.
The night is dark and windy, with a slight drizzle in the mountains. The rain sweeps diagonally across the muddy path. The temple stands by the roadside, its mud-covered walls cracked, and the half-broken eaves sway in the wind and rain.
But this night, a few flickering lights appeared inside the temple, casting a shifting glow that made the cobwebs on the beams flicker between light and shadow.
