Seeing Utaha's target, Ichin found himself interested as well.
Although the bed in the current bedroom was still usable, they didn't plan on moving it over.
After all, there were times when three people would be lying on the same bed. The old one was a bit cramped, so it really was time to switch to something bigger.
Pulling Ichin and Yukino over, Utaha said, "Ichin, what do you think about this size? The new bedroom can fit it perfectly!"
At that moment, a store clerk came over and enthusiastically started introducing it—what materials were used, the dimensions, comfort level, and so on.
While listening, Ichin pressed down on the mattress paired with the bed. It felt genuinely nice.
The bed was 2.2 meters long, and the width was also noticeably greater than the one at home—an even two meters wide. Size-wise, it was more than enough.
On top of that, it was the same brand as the bed they already had at home, which they'd been using for a long time without any issues. After confirming that it was in stock, Ichin made the decision on the spot without looking at any others.
With the bed for his own bedroom decided, the next one to handle was Yukino's. Her room didn't need to be that large, but they still chose a standard-size double bed.
As for the beds in the other bedrooms, since those rooms weren't fully renovated yet, there was no rush to buy them. It was enough to get these two rooms set up first.
With the beds selected, the next items were the wardrobes and the dressing tables for Utaha and Yukino. There wasn't much else that was particularly necessary.
After choosing the wardrobes and dressing tables at the same store, Ichin looked at Utaha and Yukino. "Is there anything else you want to buy next? How about a TV cabinet? We should probably have a TV in the bedroom, right?"
Utaha thought for a moment before saying, "We can take a look, but this store doesn't really have any good ones. Honestly, it's fine even if we don't buy one—when the time comes, we can just mount the TV on the wall. What about you, Yukino?"
"For me, I don't need a TV cabinet in my room. I usually don't watch TV in the bedroom anyway. A tablet is enough."
Since both of them said so, Ichin didn't bother looking for a TV cabinet. The three of them continued strolling around, seeing if there were any small items worth buying.
In the end, they didn't pick out any more big pieces, but they did buy a simple, minimalist-style desk lamp for each of the two bedrooms.
With nothing else left to buy, they left the furniture mall, found a family restaurant nearby, had a simple dinner, and then headed back home.
When they got home, Haruno had also just finished working overtime. Instead of staying at her own place, she came over to Ichin's and collapsed on the sofa.
"Haruno, here—your takeout dinner."
"Finally, food!"
Haruno scrambled up from the sofa, rushed over to the dining table, opened the bag, pulled out the packaged cheese rice and grilled wings, and happily started eating.
"Ughhh! I'm seriously exhausted today. Why do I still have to work overtime on the weekend? Mom really doesn't treat me like her own daughter—she insisted I follow up on a project. I swear she's absolutely planning to retire."
While eating, Haruno kept venting nonstop to the three of them.
Ichin pulled out a chair and sat down, poured her a glass of juice, and asked, "If it was work, didn't Auntie prepare dinner for you? You just drove back from Chiba on your own?"
Haruno nodded. "There was supposed to be a dinner banquet too, but I really didn't want to go, so I turned it down and came back. Otherwise I'd have to put on makeup and all that—way too much trouble."
Looks like she really was worn out.
After stuffing herself for a couple of minutes and gnawing the chicken wings down to the bone, Haruno finally slowed down and began eating more leisurely.
Taking a bite from the last wing, she asked, "So, did you get all the furniture you wanted this afternoon?"
"The two upstairs bedrooms that are already renovated have their furniture picked out. It'll be delivered tomorrow." After answering, Ichin took out his phone and looked at the photos of the new house Utaha had sent earlier. "Haruno, your bedroom should be just about done next week. Are you planning to move the furniture from here over, or buy new ones?"
After swallowing her food, Haruno replied, "Furniture, huh… let me think. I'll buy new ones. As for the bed, I don't need to buy a mattress—just get a bed frame with the same size as this one and move the mattress over. You're all free next Saturday, right? Come shopping for furniture with me?"
That was exactly what Ichin and the others had been thinking about on the way back anyway. Since Haruno said she wanted to buy new furniture, they agreed right away and set the plan for next weekend.
A dozen minutes later, Haruno finished her dinner and leaned back in her chair with a satisfied expression. "Ah… I feel alive again."
At that moment, Yukino brought over all the cats from the house and looked at Haruno. "Sis, didn't you think about buying some dinner for yourself on the way back?"
"Hehe, weren't you the ones who said you'd bring me food? And I was really tired when I got back—I couldn't be bothered to look for a place to eat."
Picking up her teacup, Haruno took a sip of hot tea and exhaled with her eyes half-closed.
"Ah, now that I'm full, I feel like sleeping."
"Careful, you'll gain weight."
Coming out of the kitchen, Ichin was holding two large bowls filled with cubed watermelon.
This obviously wasn't for Haruno—she had just finished dinner. It was the after-meal fruit for the three of them.
Using a toothpick to pick up a piece and pop it into his mouth, Ichin nodded in satisfaction. "Mm, it's pretty sweet—just way too expensive. Haruno, you can't eat this right now, you just finished dinner. Wait a bit—there's still plenty left."
Haruno gloomily pulled her outstretched hand back, hugged her teacup, and went to sit on the sofa.
Watching the program on TV, she asked, "Ichin-kun, are you all going back this summer vacation?"
"We are." Ichin came over and sat down as well. "Once my parents come over, we'll head back together and spend a few days traveling around. Besides the vacation, I also need to check on the studio in Shanghai and meet the new members recruited recently. Haruno, do you want to come with us? Yukino's already decided she's going."
Haruno looked at Yukino in surprise. "Eh~~ Yukino's already decided?"
Yukino nodded. "Yes. I've already talked to Mother, and she didn't object."
Seeing that her sister had already made up her mind, Haruno thought it over for a moment before saying, "I can't be sure yet. It depends on how work goes. If things get busy, I probably won't be able to go."
Compared to Ichin's side, Haruno's work really was much busier. After all, their industries were different, and she was also planning to expand the business on her end.
Even now, despite some cooperation between the Tokyo side and the Sawamura family, real estate was still not an easy field.
Looking at Haruno's tired expression, Ichin thought to himself that when the time came, he'd ask his mom to talk to Auntie and get Haruno a few days off.
