After the doctors left to give him some time to rest, silence settled over the room.
Sian sat on the edge of the bed while Kira continued glancing at him every few seconds, as if she feared he might suddenly close his eyes and slip back into his coma.
She let out a quiet sigh and wiped the tears from her face with the sleeve of her shirt.
"I still can't believe you're awake."
A faint smile curved Sian's lips.
"I'm right here."
She immediately pointed a finger at him.
"Exactly. That's why I'm staring at you."
"I'm going to keep a close eye on you this time."
He Jinyun let out a quiet, exasperated sigh.
"Stop causing trouble and move away from him a little. If you keep sitting on him like that, you're going to break his bones."
Kira shot him a sharp glare.
"You be quiet."
"Who was the one standing outside this room every single night, refusing to move even an inch away from the door for the entire past month?"
