Airon woke up just an hour after his party ran into the young Light and Dark Drakes and even though Lord Flurdechiosed was confident in his ability to get through the next gate, Airon wasn't.
Although he defeated Oivozal, that was just one of the three conditions he set for himself. Also, he wasn't able to land the last decisive blow that should've made Oivozal admit defeat so he argued with Flurdechiosed until he ultimately gave in.
After all they did agree to spar with him one by one so they had no other choice than to go along with it.
The second one to spar with Airon was Oildroz who had been observing the fights closely, knowing that he was going up next after Oivozal. Oildroz knew it wouldn't be wise to hold back against him considering the nature of his defensive spell is to gain power over time, a prolonged fight would work in his favor.
