Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Forgotten Reason

Meanwhile, back at the Red Chamber deep within Kigen, an endless amount of screaming is coming from the chamber; it echoes throughout the whole building. Kairi starts shaking her body endlessly as the chains that bind her shatter. Kairi stood up, her eyes changed to bright red, and a pair of horns appeared on her head. She spoke in a distorted voice, "You don't mind me borrowing your body for a while." A red glowing energy started coming from Kairi's hands in quick succession; the energy formed into a giant red orb. She slammed the orb onto the ground, and the walls around her burst open. Kairi jumped out of the red chamber. Multiple Kigen soldiers started chasing after her. Kairi jumped onto a building as multiple soldiers started firing towards her. Kairi started to cover her body with her red energy, but before it could cover her completely, a massive beam of light blasted through Kairi's arm. All the soldiers stopped firing as a man with long black hair and a metal mask started Descending towards Kairi, all the soldiers held up their guns and said, "All hail King Watanabe." Kairi's arm was badly damaged. She started going through multiple plans of action within her mind, but before she could act, Watanabe spoke in a cold tone. "You look a bit different from the last time I saw you, Kairi. Let's see what has changed." Watanabe stretched his arm out and pulled Kairi towards him, then swiftly after, he punched her into the building below. Before she could recover, Watanabe kicked her into multiple buildings. Kiari, lying in ruins, started to spit out blood. She said, "I can't follow his attacks. Everything he does is impossible to follow. What a monster." Watanabe stood in front of Kairi; he grabbed her head and lifted her up, then said, "I was going to just let you rot in the red chamber, but now you have become nothing but trouble. Do you have any final words before I kill you?" Kairi didn't respond, but a glowing red energy started coming from Kairi's hands. Watanabe stood there dumbfounded; he said in a shocking tone, "Hex magic? "That's impossible; only Lucifer can wield that type of magic unless..." Watanabe placed Kairi back on the floor as a white light started coming from his hand. Watanabe used a spell to see directly into Kairi's mind; while searching through her mind, he understood everything. He removed his hand from her head and said, "Demonic possession, I see. So, Seilah, what is it you wish to gain by possessing this woman?" Seilah spoke through Kairi's body and said, "I wish to return to Nova Icyln; that's all." Watanabe wasn't surprised by her reason but then said, "I do have a question. There have been cases before where people's distorted personalities have left their original body, but I have never seen something like this. You possess Lucifer's hexes, magic, and his sin of pride. What exactly are you?" Seilah sighed and then responded, "I am the incarnation of Nova Icyln Devil. She is the daughter of Lucifer. When he died, his power and sin were passed down to her, but she didn't inherit them. I did. His powers and sin became mine." Shortly after I inherited his powers, I was able to fully take over Nova's body for a short period of time. But when Nova inherited that dragon's power, she cast me out, and I ended up within the red chamber." Watanabe was shocked to hear about Seilah's origin; he stood there for a while deep in thought before saying, "You should return to her; take Kairi with you." Seilah was surprised by his response and didn't hesitate; she jumped into the air and started heading towards the bamboo forest. Deep within Seilah's mind Kairi was sitting on a chair looking into deep space. Seilah appeared behind her, but before she could say anything, Kairi said, "Isn't it about time you tell me the truth? What is happening to Nova?" Kairi turned and faced Seilah. Multiple images of Nova started appearing beside Seilah as she said, "When Nova inherited that dragon's power, it was too much for her mind and body to handle. Her body still hasn't adapted to it yet, but I fear when it does, it will be too late." Kairi stood up and grabbed Seilah's shoulders, then spoke in a worrying tone, "Is there anything we can do?" Seilah said, "Yes, if I can return to Nova, I might be able to repair the damage to her mind and body, but if I can't, her body will burst, and then she will die." Kairi nodded in response and said, "I understand. I won't allow that to happen. I have a plan, but you're going to have to trust me." Seilah allowed Kairi to take control over her body again as she jumped over the bamboo woods and landed on a building. Kairi saw the endless fighting, then drew her arm blades and said, "This has to work." Kairi jumped onto one of the bamboo seeds, then swiftly jumped down and tackled Nova. Jade, Testarossa and Nicole all saw Kairi, but they couldn't do anything either. Soldiers started overwhelming them. Kairi wrapped her tail around Nova's arms as a green-like magic started to cover Nova's body, completely shutting off Nova's magical power. Kairi then said, "Here's your chance." A black-like fog came out of Kairi's back and flew into Nova's body; ice started forming around her body. Kairi lay on the ground as Nova was sealed within the ice that shot up into the air. A few hours before, Seilah said, "What is your plan?" Kairi smirked and said, "It's quite simple. I will tackle Nova, then use the sin of sloth to shut off her magic for a time. That will be your opening to enter her body." Seilah responded, "Not a bad idea; we will use it, but I do have a question: do all the Sins have such power?" Kairi giggled and said, "No, each of the seven deadly sins has a unique ability. Sloth has the ability to completely shut off the mana in the surrounding area. I'm surprised you didn't know this when you possess the Sin of Pride." Seilah crossed her arms and said, "Let's just get this over with." Kairi lay on the ground looking up at Nova's body covered in ice. As she lay there, an Arcane Card appeared in her hand; it had the writing "Slumbering Scylla" written on it. Kairi stood up and put the card into her pocket. She yelled, "We must protect Nova until she is ready to join the fight." Kairi jumped into the battle and started helping the others fight off the endless nether soldiers.
