As the red liquid continue to slowly crawl on top of the cave roof a shot ran out hitting the liquid before it quickly retreat back into a crack in the cave frozen walls.
Before Kalian holding his pistol as it's chamber smoking hot from the bullet shot before Ada and Chojin instantly reloaded their rifles, small and compact weapons made for cave system like MP-5, HK416 and UMP9 with the specially made bullet prepare by Sover as Ada throw a small light stick that emit very strong light down in the shadows where the setup light could not reach at the same time, Kalian continues to point his MP-5 at the cracks of the frozen walls as well as keeping eyes on other part of the cave system.
Oven instantly understanding the situation orders Falis and Kaylan to take their time to collecting the samples.
Oven: "Kayla, Falis you two keep collecting the samples we will hold the slimes off alright? Better get the job done good than it being terrible."
Getting up from his knees as Kaylan and Falis nod at his orders. Meanwhile, Ada and Chojin continues to aim their rifles a HK416 and UMP9 at the light. Before they hear it a wet slime sounding like a gurgle slowly making its way towards them, it was moving slow, but it releases a lot of red acidic liquid that burns a path behind the slime. While Ada and Chojin were more than ready to shoot the slime but without orders they would be interview heavily to know whatever or not they did it on impulse because in a cave where it's dark and cold and there's an anomaly that will kill you?
Impulse is as dangerous as the anomaly shooting your own team or worse shooting your team captain. And right now Ada and Chojin hold their trigger with a steady heart beat waiting for Oven's orders. Before Oven stands before Chojin and Ada ready to give his order.
Oven: "Ada shoot once at the slime see if there are any effects."
Ada nods as she points her barrel at the slime before taking a shot, the shot rang hard and loud enough to shatter the untrained ears, the special bullet containing high amount of alkaline solution the bullet starts dissolving inside the slime before the slime instantly start reacting with the chemical change inside them as it start wriggling around the floor and walls of the cave like a snail that touch salt.
Oven watch as the red slime slowly retreat back into the darkness of the caves making gurgling noise as it did, and then nothing nobody moves anybody focus on nothing Kalian continue to stay focus on the cracks that's on the cave's walls...

Me, Pina and Sover watch from the camera watching as the red slime retreat back into the darkness, Sover both writes and watch the video most likely writing down the characteristic of the Scp variant after all it is required to do so to make sure it gets to send to RAISA (Record Keeping and Information Security Administration).
???: "So it seems like it worked hm?"
Sover: "Best outcome because if it had no effect than they would need to retreat back here and lose both time and sample if it continues to melt."
Pina: "Sover has done his part in providing the team a bullet that can hurt the variant so now it's their turn to make sure they return safely with the sample."

Oven walk back and forth from the support unit and the sample collecting unit making sure everything is going smoothly, but something doesn't feel right back at the video where the guards were killed they were more than one and more aggressive, but right now the slime just left? That's not how Scp's would react even if they were hit with Alkaline solution they will still charge in without a single thought in its head, but it didn't die with one hit so why would it retreat... Unless...
Thinking back from the footage the slime didn't sneak up... IT CAME FROM UP TOP! Before Oven reach in and grab Kalian, Ada and Chojin vest and drag them behind as red slimes drop from below melting the light's as it slowly start to form into it's gel like forming. Ada and the other two form up as well getting on one knee as they aim their rifles at the slime and the only thing stopping them from shooting is Oven and right now Oven is more than ready to say.
Oven: "Fire!"
Before his words gets cut off with loud bangs as the cave's reverberated the gun's loud bang's if not even loader do to the cave structure, the slimes were hit with unbearable pain or at least sounds like it as they wiggle around as if to block the shoot's before suddenly Chojin was hit with a jet of red slime hitting his shoulder, Oven seeing his own men injured step up taking his own submachine rifle and start shooting back.
Oven: "CHOJIN GET UP WE STILL BREATHING SO WHY YOU ON THE DAMN FLOOR!"
Oven yells back without looking back at Chojin, while Oven was shouting Chojin took a look at his shoulder and see it as burn his skin and vest with one jet of stream.
But right now there's no time to be sleeping on the floor as Chojin gets up from the floor he felt it... Red crystals started forming on his shoulder before he gets hit with an overwhelming wave of nausea but if you think he would collapse on the floor like a fodder you will be wrong because this is the SCP foundation I'm talking about here passing out from that won't even make you be a guy that only hold's gun's.
Before the red crystal could form even faster he went and stab a large chunk of the crystal and pry it off of his skin as he grunts hard as he tore a huge patch of skin as he grab a pistol from his waist and start providing supporting firepower.
Nao and Ian continue to collect samples from the bones but right now their hands are slipping not from nervousness but just from how damp it is inside the cave walls they could barely hear Oven yelling at them how much longer it was going to take, but they could not say anything since that would break their concentration and Oven understand their silence as he continues to fire at the slime.
The slimes continue to growl in pain as the alkaline and acid are mixing inside them, but suddenly more and more start coming from the deep parts of the caves as well as the cracks from the walls all around them, they know they are running out of time with an injured man right behind them and right now the only thing that need to be done is collecting the samples...
They are running out of ammo since these bullets were only made on a short time as they need to switch to their second hand weapon a pistol or a Mac-10 to fire...
Ian: "WE GOT ALL THE SAMPLES NOW!"
Oven: "RETREAT NOW!"
Ada and Kalian rush towards to Chojin, Ada made Chojin wrap his arm around her and start walking towards the exit while Kalian, Ian and Nao shoot at the slimes that is a blind spot for Kalian. Due to Chojin injury Ada had to walk more slowly while Oven help with his bleeding and Kalian was just right behind them before suddenly a red slime wrap around his ankle causing him to stumble and slowly getting dragged into now a hoard of slime...
Kalian shoot at the slime that wrap around his ankle, but his pistol quickly ran out of ammo with no time to reload but as Kalian thought he was going to be turned into a human soap Nao rush in and spray liquid nitrogen on his ankle freezing the red slime before crushing it with his foot and quickly drag him while Ian provide them support as they carry him back to safety...
