Drive was not a very ambitious man; one could say he was a person who easily let himself be carried by events. This did not mean he was lax or lacked will, quite the contrary; the fact that he was where he is today is proof of that.
"I want to become a knight!"
Drive had heard these words from his childhood friend. Both coming from modest backgrounds, they got along very well; his friend had a great influence on him. And just like that, this objective also became his own: his friend's enthusiasm had been transmitted to him.
Children's games became serious training as they grew older. Altercations between youths became the only way for them to test their abilities. Because of their parents, neither could go fight bandits nor become mercenaries; they had no way to gain experience. Moreover, enrolling them in a fencing school would be expensive.
