Isolde was already at the gate of the Alpha's estate when she was told by the guards on duty that Zephyr had demanded she come to him if seen.
Isolde was terrified on her way to the Alpha's study. She had a lot of things that would be useful to him if she told him.
Like that Selene desperately wanted to know who her mother was. Or that Selene's mother's name was Kyla. Or she could go out of the book and tell him that the Lady Raula can not only walk but is a skilled wolf who attempted murdering Selene with poison.
But she did not want to spill any of these. So she felt overwhelmed. Isolde had just started feeling a little better with Selene and Blaize. She always felt better when she spent time with them. And now, they wanted her to ruin those moments, as she battled with guilt.
She was trying to stop trembling when she got to the presence of the Alpha. He was supposed to look normal, seated behind that huge desk as he read through some papers, but he looked anything but normal.
