Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

Chapter 22 Chakra Doubles

Kakashi was very pleased, but Yoruha asked, "Kakashi-sensei, do you really have time to teach me? You're still Naruto and the others' instructor too."

Kakashi waved a hand. "Don't worry. I'll do my best to coordinate the schedules on both sides."

Yoruha didn't want to think too much about how Kakashi would manage it.

"That's good, then."

"Then it's settled. Starting tomorrow, come here every evening. I'll wait for you here. Unless I have something to do, you have to come every day. Can you promise that?"

Kakashi looked at Yoruha.

Yoruha nodded. "Of course I don't have any problem with that."

In any case, Yoruha didn't really have anything to do every day.

And he didn't have any friends, either.

After chatting a little longer, the two parted ways.

On the way back, Yoruha felt like everything was a little surreal.

He thought to himself, "Kakashi is actually going to teach me. Is this because of Kihon Toichi-sensei?"

Yoruha felt that if Kihon Toichi and Kakashi hadn't been colleagues, Kakashi would never have come to teach him.

But he had guessed wrong. He had no idea how deeply his talent had shocked Kakashi.

The main reason Kakashi had been willing to take over Team 7 was the Third Hokage's request.

After all, Kakashi had once been the Fourth Hokage's student, and had even served as captain of the Fourth's直属 Anbu unit.

Back when Naruto's mother Kushina had been pregnant with Naruto, Kakashi had even served as her guard.

On top of that, Naruto had Kurama sealed inside him, so having Kakashi—the strongest Jonin in Konohagakure at present—watch over him was the best choice.

And there was also Sasuke on the team.

Although the Third Hokage had been indecisive about the destruction of the Uchiha Clan, and thus bore great responsibility for the clan's massacre,

he had still wanted to nurture Sasuke, and Kakashi also excelled at developing the Sharingan.

So while Kakashi hadn't rejected becoming Team 7's instructor, it hadn't been something he had volunteered for either.

But as for Yoruha, Kakashi genuinely liked him. Yoruha's talent was very much like his own back then—perhaps even greater.

The difference between Yoruha and him was that Yoruha was more even-tempered.

Back then, although Kakashi hadn't seemed arrogant on the surface, deep down he had always been proud.

After all, he really had been far stronger than his peers.

Graduating from the Ninja Academy at five, becoming Chunin at six, and Jonin at twelve—an experience like that was extraordinarily rare even across the entire ninja world.

And he felt that Yoruha's talent surpassed even his own.

That alone showed how much he expected from Yoruha.

The more talented a ninja was, the more serious the consequences could be if they weren't guided properly.

And when Kakashi had swallowed his pride and negotiated with Kihon Toichi to personally teach Yoruha, aside from truly liking Yoruha, he had also hoped to guide him himself so that Yoruha wouldn't go down the wrong path in the future.

After parting from Yoruha, Kakashi came to Kihon Toichi.

Kihon Toichi looked at Kakashi appearing on his balcony and shook his head helplessly.

"I'm saying, can't you use the door?"

Kakashi leaned against the balcony. "I've already made an agreement with him. His talent is far greater than what either of us saw before."

Kihon Toichi froze for a moment.

Then he smiled in understanding. "I'm not very surprised."

Kakashi smiled too. "I don't think you'd be able to imagine it."

"Oh?"

Kihon Toichi looked at Kakashi.

Kakashi glanced at the woods outside and said, "I probed a bit to see what his strength is like right now."

"His performance surprised me. I'm afraid ordinary Chunin are already no match for him."

"Today was only the first day he learned from you how to use Chakra, but when he fought me, he was already using it with great skill—and very well."

"He already has Chunin-level strength, and not just weak Chunin either."

"What he lacks now is offensive ninjutsu. Once he masters offensive ninjutsu, his strength may very quickly catch up to yours."

Kakashi sighed. Even now, he still hadn't fully recovered from the shock.

Yoruha's talent was too high—so high that it had surpassed his expectations.

Kihon Toichi smiled. "That kid."

Though it was beyond expectation, Kihon Toichi still felt gratified.

After all, he truly regarded Yoruha as his direct disciple.

If he had been skilled in combat, he never would have handed Yoruha over to Kakashi to teach.

Kakashi continued, "There's one more thing you definitely won't expect."

"Yoruha has five Chakra natures."

The smile on Kihon Toichi's face, which had just been full of satisfaction, froze.

"What!"

"He has All Nature Chakra?"

Kihon Toichi was stunned.

When Kakashi had said Yoruha had Chunin-level strength, he had been surprised, but it was still within the realm of imagination.

But possessing All Nature Chakra—this was simply far too special.

Generally speaking, having all-attribute Chakra was basically something one was born with through bloodline.

And the rarity of All Nature Chakra was even greater than that of some ninja with Kekkei Genkai.

At present, only Kakashi and the Third Hokage in Konohagakure had it.

It could even be said that possessing All Nature Chakra itself counted as a kind of Kekkei Genkai.

Kihon Toichi's gaze sharpened. "You didn't tell anyone else about this, did you?"

Kakashi shook his head. "I know very well how sensitive this is. Of course I wouldn't spread it around."

Having All Nature Chakra was a good thing, but precisely because it was so rare, it was easy to attract attention.

Both Kakashi and Kihon Toichi had previously been in the Anbu.

They knew very well that Konohagakure wasn't made only of sunlight on the surface; there was also darkness buried beneath the roots of the trees.

And Yoruha was only a civilian, without the protection of a clan.

Who knew whether someone might capture him for human experimentation?

Kihon Toichi let out a sigh of relief.

"You need to be careful when teaching him too. It'd be best if he normally only used ninjutsu of two attributes."

Kakashi nodded. "I'll make sure to warn him."

On this issue, Kakashi and Kihon Toichi were in complete agreement.

That was: before Yoruha had the power to protect himself, absolutely no one could be allowed to know that he possessed all-attribute Chakra.

...

After Yoruha returned home,

he lay on his bed and sank his consciousness into his mental space.

Very soon, a voice sounded in his mind.

"You have idled for one day. Chakra has doubled, physical strength has increased by one percent, and speed has doubled."

When he came back to himself, Yoruha only felt incredibly comfortable all over.

Savoring the feeling carefully, the corners of Yoruha's lips lifted slightly. "My Chakra's growth is terrifying. Right now, this Chakra is so abundant it's practically on par with Kakashi's."

"Did my speed double because I roughly learned the Body Flicker Technique?"

Ordinary Body Flicker Technique had a very low difficulty and a very simple principle. It was just about attaching Chakra to the soles of the feet to increase the body's movement speed.

That was why the ordinary Body Flicker Technique was only D-rank in difficulty.

In other words, any Genin could learn it.
