Boom! Boom! Boom!
The ground erupted like a living trap. Spikes shot out without warning, tearing through the sand in jagged bursts. The desert that once looked empty had turned into a death field.
"Spread out!" Major Kyle roared.
Everyone moved instantly.
Sylas's eyes sharpened. His senses were stretched to the limit, but the plant's presence was still fragmented, scattered like it existed everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
That alone made it far more dangerous than the previous ones.
Swish!
Another volley of thorns rained from above.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Sylas reinforced the space barrier, but this time, he didn't just defend. His fingers moved slightly.
Slash!
Several spatial blades curved outward instead of forward, intercepting the incoming thorns mid-air.
They shattered into pieces.
Boom!
But more spikes erupted from below again.
"Watch your footing!" Gio shouted as he leaped into the air, wind gathering beneath his feet.
