Its regeneration was still astonishing.
But...
Alix noticed something.
The blood flowing from the fountain had slowed considerably.
Its crimson glow wasn't as brilliant as before. Even the ancient runes had begun flickering.
The creature's aura remained powerful. Yet it was no longer increasing.
Instead, It had begun to decline ever so slightly.
Alix looked toward the blood fountain before shifting his gaze back to the abomination.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"So..."
"It seems you've finally reached your limit."
The creature answered with another furious roar.
Its three heads screamed together.
"KILL!"
"KILL!"
"KILL!"
Its massive body charged once more.
This time, however, there was desperation behind its movements.
It no longer fought like an apex predator. It fought like a cornered beast.
Alix slowly lowered his sword.
His expression became completely serious.
"I've learned everything I needed."
"I suppose it's time to end this."
