Elara went quiet after that and nodded.
The Countess, on the other hand, had a smile form on her face once again.
"There it is," she muttered.
"Hm?" Theo looked at her.
"That answer," she spoke. "Does it mean you are going to make this beast better at its job, or are there more of them too?"
Theo felt like he had been jabbed in the heart with the hilt of a knife. She was so accurate that it felt unreal.
"Yes," he answered, making the Countess understand that there was no 'or.' He had said yes to both.
"Explain it properly," the Count ordered from the side and sat on the chair near Theo's desk as if this room had suddenly become a family meeting room.
It was as if Theo and the Countess had a habit of talking in code, and they now had to decode it for the Count to understand.
