Roland blocked with his spear, but the force drove his mount's legs deep into the stone. Cracks spiderwebbed around its hooves.
Roland's head tilted. "Oh?"
Draeven did not give him time to recover.
He stepped in, and swung again.
The shovel's edge glowed faintly, purplish energy clinging like a mist.
Roland parried, but was pushed back a step.
Clang!
Clang!
Roland's beast reared, trying to create distance, but Draeven slammed a kick into its chest.
BOOM!
The mount staggered, skidding back.
Roland flipped off the saddle, landing lightly on his feet.
He looked at his dented spear shaft, then at Draeven.
"Amazing, to think someone can do this. Just what weapon is that?"
Draeven's eyes were cold. "I will make sure to kill you all."
Roland shrugged. "Typical, did one of our kill your friend? Oh well not like it matter."
He shifted his stance.
Until now, he had fought with one hand on the spear.
Now, he set both hands firmly on the shaft.
