Dawn's gaze was fixed outside the window, and her brows were pulled together as Lucy drove the car home.
She had called Adam, and he had confirmed from the receptionist that Jamal hadn't been to the spa physically but had called hours ago to find out why she had not left with Lucy.
If he had not been to the spa, why did he claim he had been there but had not seen her?
And why did he call to confirm why she didn't leave with Lucy?
Most importantly, why had he been silent the whole time instead of asking her about it?
Had he perhaps seen her with Adam outside the spa?
The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she became.
She wanted to call him, but seeing the way he had been acting even while they were together told her that talking over the phone wouldn't do any good.
Maybe it was best she paid him a visit at work after dropping off Josh at school the next day.
She hoped he would be more willing to talk after sleeping.
