In the familiar white room called the System space, Daphne hangs the sixth portrait on the wall.
She makes sure it is straight. Blue eyes of the figure in the portrait look at her—leaning against her elbow, lying down facing forward, a small smile on her face. Her tail is half-immersed in the water, shimmering beautifully.

The portrait falls in line with the others. On both walls: Jiang Yuxi, Evelyn, Estella, Nima, Vivienne, Lorelei. All of them. All of her.
The space,once a small cubicle—is bigger now and extremely empty save for the paintings that hang there.
Daphne looks at them with longing and adoration.
