Elara
I want to scream for help but I can't.
I'm trapped in my own body right now. And very afraid.
The Luna looks crazy. She's lost some weight. Her hair is matted. She's in a faded white shirt and shorts. Barefoot.
She walks toward me and taps my face.
"How beautiful," she says.
And jumps to sit on the counter.
"You know, I've never wanted for much. Just your life."
She says it and laughs.
"When I found myself as the chosen one, with four mates, I thought to myself, this must be the goddess's apology for my shitty life. I was going to save the four packs, have many, many pups, and live happily ever after, you know."
Her eyes are far away. As if reminiscing.
"To make my happiness even better, I heard you were pregnant by someone unknown. And cast out. And your child wasn't even a wolf. That was hilarious. Perfect Elara wasn't so perfect anymore. Nor did she have a perfect life anymore. It was amazing."
She pauses.
