Chapter 407 - HP: Wizardry’s a Hassle, Wand-Chapter 136: Written Exams

Snape didn't give Glenn and Hermione any pleasant looks the entire next day. This wasn't because their work had been subpar—they'd perfectly passed the "Final Exam Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts Written Test" and "Potions Practical Exam" that Snape had assigned them.

Of course, it also wasn't because Glenn had been discovered after vengefully rifling through Snape's private collection in retaliation for his tyrannical behavior. Glenn's disguise and restoration work was flawless—Snape wouldn't notice unless he examined things carefully.

So what exactly had made Snape this angry?

"Hmph, it was just getting our revenge and calling it even. Why is Professor Snape still giving us dirty looks? We only did to him what he did to us—locking him in the Potions office."

Muttering to herself, Hermione's courage had grown considerably. Seeing Snape glare at her with an unpleasant expression, she now dared to retaliate head-on with faces. She immediately made an adorable grimace at Snape. His sanity didn't drop in the slightest, but his rage meter shot up with a whoosh whoosh whoosh, the dark aura emanating from him nearly becoming tangible.

Last night, the angrier Hermione got thinking about it, the more determined she became to get revenge on Snape. Fueled by fury and resolve, the young girl completed her portion of work with exceptional efficiency—finishing more than ten minutes before Glenn completed all his tasks. She used the remaining time to study various combinations of locking spells, aiming for maximum complexity and difficulty.

After Glenn finished his work too, at Hermione's request he joined her revenge scheme, using modern technical methods and alchemy to add the finishing touches to Hermione's plan.

When Snape returned, he waved his hand dismissively, too lazy to even check their results, and shooed Glenn and Hermione out of his office. Then Glenn closed the door, and Hermione vengefully began her revenge plan, slapping the blockade magic she and Glenn had designed onto the Potions office door with a whoosh.

In any case, according to an eyewitness who passed by today, he witnessed the scene of Snape bursting through the door.

Although the door had been repaired with mending charms, Snape's dignity had clearly been cracked by Hermione's actions. Now he was trying to devour Glenn and Hermione through his gaze alone, staring at them from outside the exam room with the look of someone who wanted to eat them alive.

Inside the exam room, Glenn and Hermione sat pressed together just like when they studied in the library normally, but unlike usual, each of their desks held several exam papers—their final written exams for various subjects. They were finishing one paper then immediately switching to the next subject, with absolutely no breaks requested in between.

Before them sat Professor McGonagall, who was supervising their exam. The old cat lady was currently looking down at her own business with a completely unreliable appearance of neglecting her duties, not looking like an exam proctor at all. Even when she heard Hermione's muttering, she showed no intention of looking up to warn her.

Rather than calling this a final exam, it was more like three people sitting together each doing their own thing—there really wasn't even a hint of tension.

The two's answering speed was explosively fast. Glenn and Hermione's hands holding their quill pens flew at lightning speed. The moment they saw a question, like some photo-answering app, the answer immediately surfaced in their minds. What ordinary young wizards would rack their brains over during final written exams had been turned into a speed-run game by these two.

This speed-run game was ultimately won by Glenn with a lead of just over ten seconds, and by then the time had reached 11:43 AM.

Thus, the two had successfully completed written exams for all eleven courses they'd selected in less than four hours.

"I have a feeling—seriously, Glenn—I can get full marks this time."

Hermione neatly stacked her exam papers and handed them to Professor McGonagall, then leaned back with a comfortable sigh, beginning to stretch and flex her fingers. Throughout this exam, she hadn't found a single question she felt she'd answered incompletely. The young girl was now brimming with confidence.

"That's great. Go rest now—don't do anything that'll drain your energy or stamina today."

Glenn stood up and stretched his body, his joints producing a series of physiological pops from top to bottom. He jerked his thumb toward the door, indicating Snape who was still stationed outside, watching them with cold eyes.

"I think Snape's probably going to make things difficult for us during the Defense Against the Dark Arts practical exam."

Hermione pouted, glanced at Snape, glared at him, and complained in a low voice:

"Professor Snape really is petty."

Professor McGonagall collected their exam papers, organized the materials she'd been working on, packed them into a small bag, and stood up. She looked at them with a smile that carried a hint of concern.

"I heard from Severus what kind of practical exam he's planning for you two—he intends to duel both of you individually. What exactly did you two do to him? You didn't really lock him in the Potions office for an entire night, did you?"

"Uh..."

Hermione guiltily averted her gaze, not wanting to admit her misdeed in front of her favorite professor. So Glenn picked up the conversation:

"Objectively speaking, the word 'lock' would only take effect when Professor Snape made contact with that door again. But given the professor's schedule, he very likely worked through the entire night before planning to go out again. The door was only violently broken open in the morning, so strictly speaking, we didn't lock Professor Snape in his room for an entire night."

Professor McGonagall's mouth twitched slightly as she struggled to keep her face straight and not laugh aloud. Only McGonagall's rich experience prevented her from audibly gloating. She coughed lightly, secretly told them about some of Snape's weak points, then turned and left the classroom with the exam papers.

Naturally, the two followed Professor McGonagall's footsteps out the classroom door, only to be intercepted by Snape.

"You two really have some nerve... Is there anything you'd like to say to me?"

"Uh, Professor Snape, you're being so childish." "...My nerve is indeed quite considerable, but shouldn't you have known that already, Professor?"

Glenn and Hermione spoke almost simultaneously, then looked at each other before both turning to look at Snape, whose face had gone completely black as the bottom of a pot.

"Run, Glenn!"

The young girl grabbed Glenn and cast an earth-moving technique plus various speed-boosting spells to make their escape.

Snape mercilessly raised his wand, aiming it at them while beginning to grit his teeth and chant spell incantations.

According to the young wizards who happened to wander near Glenn and Hermione's exam classroom that day, the area seemed to have been attacked by enemies of unknown origin.
