Chapter 235 - Baisha

The aura shield was like a balloon constantly warped by the gusts, especially in the middle where it caved inward. Without the barrier's toughness, the four cards alone probably wouldn't have held up against it.

Meanwhile, Larry glanced toward the people in the corner but didn't say much. His focus was on Jed in front of him, trying to decide which Pokemon to send into battle.

After some thought, he settled on Tyranitar. Although Tyranitar was still ranked at S level, it was close to S+.

If he could take down Jed, he could clear this obstacle and test his theory: Gengar unlocks its mega evolution at a certain strength, so maybe Tyranitar, which also has a mega evolution form, could do the same. But reaching S+ wasn't guaranteed, it might require an even higher level of power.

For now, the plan was to have Tyranitar defeat Jed, then let the Mega-evolved Gengar absorb any leftover energy, making sure nothing was wasted and maximizing their advantage.

Above them, the massive Rakshasa with golden pupils identical to Jed's glared down with a dark intensity. Both Larry and Jed noticed the presence of Gon and the others but didn't bother to acknowledge them.

They doubted these bystanders could survive the battle's aftermath. Jed seemed to pilot the giant Rakshasa like a Gundam, moving it with precise control.

Oddly, despite using the Rakshasa technique, Jed's movements were terrifyingly efficient rather than wildly destructive. The expected storm of violent attacks and swirling winds never came.

Instead, an unusual calm settled over the battlefield. Neither Larry nor Jed made a move; they just stood still. If not for the dark wind still kicking up dust from the ground, it would have looked like time itself had frozen.

Only a few people present, those with considerable strength, realized that this was a moment of building momentum. At their level, every move could cause serious damage, so battles were never casual affairs. When preparing a full-strength attack, it naturally takes time to gather momentum.

While the general audience couldn't sense it, Gon and the others clearly noticed changes in the surrounding atmosphere. At first, only the dark wind affected them, but now the combined momentum from both sides was becoming more intense. Around Rakshasa, a thick, heavy feeling of On hung in the air, growing visibly stronger by the second.

Jed understood the gap between the two fighters and didn't worry about what would come next, this was his final move, the one that would decide everything. That meant the momentum buildup had to last a bit longer.

Meanwhile, as Jed gathered his strength, Larry was also making his own preparations. Tyranitar took a deep breath, focusing all his attention. His scarlet eyes sharpened, and his dark green steel armor suddenly glowed brightly.

Pure white energy swirled around him as he activated Focus Energy, a move that boosts the user's critical hit rate. This technique helps the user enter a state where attacks are more likely to hit vital points. But this was only the beginning.

Then Tyranitar's feet began moving again, stomping rhythmically with heavy thuds. Each step seemed to echo in everyone's hearts, making them shrink back unconsciously, cold sweat breaking out on their foreheads.

To an outsider, it looked like simple warm-up stomping before a run. But Jed could feel the breath of this steel giant rising. What Tyranitar was using now was the signature skill of dragon-type Pokemon: Dragon Dance.

Interestingly, even though Tyranitar wasn't a Dragon-type, he could learn Dragon Dance. In contrast, a true Dragon-type Pokémon like the "Little Land Shark," Gible, couldn't use it, only Swords Dance as a consolation. It seemed a bit unfair, but maybe in the future, there would be a chance to breed a land dragon that could team up with Tyranitar.

Even if more Pokemon appear in the future, maybe we could build a sandstorm team. Right now, though, there aren't many Pokemon suited for that role.

Tyranitar works well as a weather controller, and Happiny could also fit in as a special shield, it can clear status effects and heal.

Watching Jed's reaction, Larry quickly gathered his thoughts and narrowed his eyes. While Larry was still thinking, Jed had already reached the peak of his power, the strongest state he could achieve. Even if he had more time, he wouldn't dare waste it.

During this time, the dark green steel aura of the nen beast grew stronger. If he kept hesitating, he'd be the one in trouble.

Rakshasa's two pale, pointed hands came together in front of him, and the sight of those massive claws was chilling. The resentful baby swallows that had been swirling around him suddenly rushed to his hands like birds returning to their nest.

Within moments, that small spark of On exploded into a massive bomb of hatred. If it was once just a small grenade, it had now become a huge missile, an orb of On packed with countless negative emotions.

Even if the attack didn't cause much direct damage, the overwhelming On behind it was almost impossible to withstand. The blue-black orb of On pulsed like the heart of Rakshasa itself, beating between his hands. But that wasn't even all of Jed's power. Before, he'd conserved his On by firing off bullets one at a time.

This time, he didn't hold back. Since this was his last move, he used every bit of On in his body, pouring it all into this attack.

"Take this, Larry!" Jed's hoarse roar carried a deadly resolve, it was like a death wish, spoken with absolute certainty.

Those were his last words. There would be no second chances or miraculous revivals this time, because he had sold his soul to the devil for this power.

What appeared on the battlefield wasn't just a huge On bomb, it was an intense, thick purple-black beam. The massive orb transformed in Rakshasa's hands, shifting quickly from a sphere into a column before blasting forward wildly.

Jed's strength was truly impressive, second only to the young Chairman Netero during his lifetime. What made him even more formidable was how his power grew after death, fueled by On. This posthumous strength surpassed what he had in life, making his full-force attack incredibly overwhelming.

The beam of light he unleashed was the largest Larry had ever seen. It was a swirling purple-black beam, resembling a black dragon charging toward him with devastating power. This was likely the biggest energy blast a human could produce.

Jed, being one of the strongest humans, naturally possessed immense strength. Although his technique differed from the usual Nen system, he used a "On" system instead, it still shared similarities, particularly in how he released his attacks. He excelled at long-range assaults, often using On bombs.

All these factors combined to create an attack that could rightly be called the largest beam of light mankind had ever witnessed. Jed referred to it as "Baisha," a stark contrast to Netero's "Zero Form" in his Hundred Type Guanyin technique.

Despite this terrifying attack that had shocked many, Larry remained calm, standing with his arms crossed. There was a figure standing firmly in front of him, as solid and unyielding as an iron tower, radiating a heavy, reassuring presence.
