Chapter 346 - The Ferry Hall

In the Ferry Hall, there's a department called the "Special Service Section," which handles a unique class of ferry operations focused on managing travel between the continents.

The staff here are responsible for carrying out thorough investigations, conducting training, and carefully screening anyone who wants to travel to the New World, all according to strict regulations.

Their job includes accompanying passengers on the ferry and doing everything they can to protect them.

However, in reality, their main goal is to prevent anyone from actually reaching the New World.

Above all, they're committed to stopping people from going to the Dark Continent at any cost.

Ging has always dreamed of exploring the Dark Continent, but he's never managed to make the journey, largely because of restrictions tied to this very desire.

While he could have tried sneaky methods like smuggling, President Netero anticipated such moves and set strict rules and oaths with him to prevent it.

The restrictions placed on Ging are similar to those imposed on Beyond, both designed to stop them from easily traveling to the Dark Continent.

However, Ging's limitations are a bit different.

Netero granted him certain privileges to ease some concerns and gave him the green light under one condition: Ging must follow official, formal procedures to get permission from the Ferry Office before he can go.

There are multiple levels of approval, but the Ferry Office has no real intention of letting just anyone pass.

As a result, Ging hasn't even cleared the first stage yet.

If it weren't for Beyond and the Kakin Empire's later plans, Ging might never have gotten the chance to set foot on the Dark Continent.

The Ferry Office makes it so difficult for two main reasons.

First, it's about protecting their own interests. The Dark Continent is full of untapped potential and treasures, and the major nations don't want to share those riches freely.

Second, it's about maintaining stability across the six continents. While the Dark Continent holds many hopes, it's also home to countless dangers.

In fact, during five major expeditions sent by the V5, only five out of 149 people survived.

Each expedition returned with new "disasters," which became the root of the five great disasters that have plagued the six continents.

This history has made the V5 extremely cautious about the Dark Continent.

For now, they manage to keep things stable, but as more people venture there, it's almost certain that more disasters will follow.

Eventually, this small island in Lake Mobius could become part of the Dark Continent, leaving humanity with nowhere safe to live.

That's why the V5 does everything it can to limit the number of people allowed to go.

The Ferry Office, which oversees all this, remains a highly secretive organization.

Only a handful of its staff and a few top officials from the major nations even know where it's located.

Some people say the Ferry Office doesn't have a fixed location and moves around from time to time.

Others believe it's built deep underground somewhere, so well hidden that no one has found it yet.

Countries take the secrecy of the Ferry Office very seriously, and there's barely any information about it, even on the hunter-only website.

Because of this, some even doubt whether the organization actually exists.

Only a handful of people know the Ferry Office is real.

The V5 group has gone so far as to block any news about it, making it tough even for someone like Porygon Z to track down its exact location.

That's why Larry had to focus on Vijand.

Since Vijand was sent by V5, he must know something about the Ferry Office, maybe even where it's located.

Larry has two main reasons for wanting to get to the Ferry Office.

First, it's a unique place, and any Pokemon bred there could be something rare or unexpected.

Second, the Ferry Office holds a lot of information about the Dark Continent, which would be crucial for his journey there.

Normally, there's little hope of going to the Dark Continent.

Larry even asked Netero about it, and Netero admitted he had never been to the Transit Hall either.

V5 guards the secrecy of the Transit Hall so closely that even Netero, the president of the Hunter Association, has never been granted access.

It's possible they're just wary of the Hunter Association, since it's the only group with the power to rival V5's influence over the Dark Continent.

Given that, it's no surprise that Larry, as the new president, might be seen as a threat.

The top leaders might already be meeting to figure out how to keep him in check.

Luckily, when Larry asked Vijand, he did know where the Transit Hall was and shared everything he could.

Vijand explained, "The V5 Ferry Hall is incredibly secretive. I've only entered through one of the passages."

He went on, "The actual location is in a special kind of space, kind of like a secret realm or a magical dimension, but it's not exactly the same."

He added, "There are five entrances in total, scattered across the countries that make up V5. You can enter from any one of those entrances."

Larry found that a bit too much of a coincidence, five entrances, each in a different country of the V5 alliance.

Larry suspected that this space was at least partly artificial.

The five entrances were all hidden in incredibly obscure spots, and he only knew the one Beyond had mentioned.

That particular entrance was pretty unusual. Most people probably wouldn't even think to look there.

Taking Beyond's words to heart, Larry made his way to the spot: the rooftop of the Hunter Association.

Standing there, a cold breeze swept past him, and he squinted toward the office building across from him.

At first glance, it looked like any other ordinary building. Nothing special.

But according to Beyond, the entrance he'd used was inside one of the corner rooms on the 15th floor of that very building.

It was certainly unexpected. Who would guess that one of the entrances to the Ferry Hall was right next to the Hunter Association headquarters?

Larry's suspicion grew stronger that this space had some artificial elements.

It couldn't just be coincidence.

Maybe the space itself was normal, but like the Hunter Association's dark room, V5 had used divine words and tools to expand a single entrance into five.

That seemed like the most likely explanation.

Achieving this would require the combined effort of the five superpowers across the six continents.

There was also a strategic reason for hiding the entrance in the city.

If it were tucked away in some remote mountain or forest, it would be harder to spot, but at the same time, coming and going would be more suspicious.
