Chapter 386 - Surrounded

Although the tentacles were still a bit away, a touch of pure white snow appeared at their tips and then spread so fast it was almost impossible to see with the naked eye.

From the tentacle tips all the way to their bases, and then onto the octopus's main body, parts of it began turning to ice, completely frozen solid.

This was the Gigantamax skill: G-Max Aurora Melody! It's a special move that activates after Dragonite Gigantamaxes.

When Dragonite Gigantamaxes, its usual ice-type attacks evolve into this powerful G-Max Aurora Melody.

Not only does Dragonite grow larger, stronger, and tougher, but it also gains access to this unique Gigantamax move.

Even the mighty giant octopus, known for its strength, couldn't stand against it.

But the freezing effect was just part of the story.

The Ultra-Giant Aurora Melody attack hits the target and deals damage, but for the next five turns, the damage our Pokemon take from both special and physical moves is cut in half.

And if there's more than one Pokemon on the field, the damage is reduced by a third instead.

This skill isn't just about offense, it's also a powerful defense, like having both Light Screen and Reflect active at the same time.

Under the full power of Gigantamax Dragonite, the giant octopus was defeated before most people could even react.

It turned into a massive ice sculpture, and then, with a loud crack, deep fractures spread across its surface.

Finally, it shattered into floating chunks of ice that drifted down onto the sea, some pieces as large as icebergs.

"Is he... dead?!" bushidora exclaimed.

His mouth dropping wide open. He was so shocked he nearly lost his words, stunned that such a terrifying foe was taken down in just one blow.

"I guess you really are worthy of being called President Larry," Pariston said with a smile, though it looked forced, and the surprise in his eyes faded quickly.

He had expected Larry would handle the octopus, but not this easily. It was clear now that Larry's strength was far beyond what he had imagined.

'Could it be that Larry even has the power to Gigantamax the nen beast?'

Pariston glanced at the dragon that Larry was now putting away as it shrank back to normal size, pondering this possibility quietly to himself.

He realized he could never fully figure out Larry. Just when he thought he had a good grasp on him, Larry would reveal even more surprising and mysterious abilities.

Take the endless strange nen beast, for example, the second form of the nen best that had appeared before, and now this giant nen best.

Larry was like a black hole, full of secrets that no one could ever explore completely.

"Wow, you truly deserve the title of Sir Larry. Letting you join the team was definitely the best decision I've made," Bijander said, stroking his small tuft of a beard and laughing heartily, feeling genuinely pleased.

Originally, like Netero, Bijander had a long beard, but since the Dark Continent was filled with danger, he had trimmed most of it off before setting out.

In a place like the Dark Continent, even the smallest mistake could wipe out any hope of survival.

Thanks to Larry's move, even the massive octopus was defeated in a single encounter.

For a moment, everyone on the boat relaxed, their tension easing as relief washed over them. This gave them renewed confidence for what lay ahead.

After all, seeing is believing.

Before, they only heard that Larry was incredibly strong, but very few had actually witnessed his power firsthand.

Sailing for a while, they understood Larry's strength better, but facing the giant octopus, a creature unlike any they had seen before, still made them uneasy.

When they finally reached the edge of the unknown sea, they caught their first real glimpse of the Dark Continent and its true creatures.

Luckily, Sir Larry's strength was far beyond what they had imagined.

The "survivors" allowed themselves to relax for a bit, their tense minds easing, unaware that an even more terrifying crisis was looming just ahead.

Far below, in the depths of this sea area, lay an extremely deep seabed. Because it was so far from the surface, sunlight never reached this place.

Everywhere they looked was pitch-black, so dark that they couldn't even see their own fingers.

Here, vision was useless; they could only feel the subtle disturbances in the water around them.

Strangely, the silence was overwhelming, there were hardly any signs of fish or other marine life, as if this place were completely dead.

But that was merely how it appeared on the surface.

As the giant octopus battled the Gigantamax Dragon, the intense aura and aura fluctuations from their fight spread far across the sea.

Deep beneath the ocean floor, many massive creatures stirred from their slumber, drawn toward the source of the disturbance.

These enormous beings began swimming steadily toward the area where the battle's aura was strongest.

The ripple effect wasn't limited to this immediate region; even in distant waters, the aftershocks of the aura could be felt.

Anyone with the ability to see from a divine perspective would notice that, centered around the ship, the surrounding seas in every direction were churning violently.

The water surged and rolled like a restless dragon, while countless enormous marine creatures moved purposefully toward the ship.

Among them was a huge pink octopus, seemingly related to the one that had just fallen.

Strange alien-like beings appeared too, creatures with enormous heads, massive eyes, but surprisingly thin bodies.

Gigantic crabs with claws as large as mountains clicked and clashed, their powerful pincers capable of crushing even the tallest peaks.

Without question, these countless colossal creatures, radiating terrifying auras, were converging rapidly on the ship.

Even the weakest aura among these creatures was at an S-level, and the strongest reached SS-level, the detect ruler of this entire area.

This fierce battle between two S-level beings was what initially drew the attention of nearby creatures, which then spread to those farther away.

Since they were close to the Dark Continent, the waters were teeming with massive marine beasts.

In no time, countless marine forces swarmed the area, creating a threat far more dangerous than the giant octopus they had faced before.

"Bushidora, keep the ship moving forward at speed 163," Byander ordered, noticing that everyone seemed to have relaxed a bit.

Just then, Larry, who had been admiring the iceberg, suddenly tensed up and shouted.

"Stop! Everyone, stay alert! There are countless giant sea monsters approaching!"

Before anyone could react, massive shapes appeared on the horizon, dozens, no, hundreds of enormous creatures rushing from all directions, completely surrounding the ship with no gaps left.

Even from a distance, their overwhelming auras filled the air, causing the calm sea to ripple once again.

Almost everyone onboard felt the same sinking realization: it was over.

One after another, they collapsed to the deck, too stunned to even hold onto the poles, their faces pale and eyes dark with despair.
