It was already past midnight.
Yet, Coco still hasn't walked through the gates of their little house.
The mediators grew wary of her unusual late arrival and absence, not used to the silence that she often filled with her laughter and numerous questions about random things.
"Should I go to the guild to see if she's still working at this hour?" Kairo asked, standing up from his spot between Alhai and Zaque.
"Don't." Heiren stated, not looking away from the window. "Coco will be upset if she knew that one of us walked out of this house late at night.. And it doesn't matter how worried I am right now."
Kairo shut his mouth and slowly sank down on his seat, his heart beating anxiously as he waited for Coco with her husbands.
The five of them waited for Coco again, but seconds passed and seconds turned to minutes, minutes became hour, and hour became hours— yet, still, no one opened the front door.
