Ho-seok tapped the cane once against the road, and Mu-hyeok punched the empty air three meters to Jin's left.
Jin didn't see what he was swinging at. As far as Jin could tell, there was nothing there at all, just drifting playing cards and smoke. But Mu-hyeok had turned his whole body into it, and his fist went through the space where something should have been, and the force of it tore a strip out of the road all the way to the warehouses. A wall caved in. Bricks came pouring down into the street.
Mu-hyeok stood looking at his own fist. Then he looked at the spot where he'd hit, and his scarred face tightened.
"Don't look where he's looking," Ho-seok said. He was standing beside Jin with the cane resting on his shoulder, and his voice was calm in a way Jin hadn't heard all night. "Look where I tell you. He's seeing the street I'm showing him now, not the one that's really here."
"How long can you hold it?"
"Long enough. Go."
