Chapter 15 - Life as the Vampire God Chapter 16 - Easlum Under Attack

Cain swiftly opened up the Easlum portal and jumped in. Everyone else wordlessly followed their comrades into what they knew would become a spectacular battle Royale.

When I deemed it appropriate to make my entrance into Easlum City, I found myself to be about one-thousand feet above the Temple of the Power Core. "What the — ."

Not to be deterred, I implemented my flying skills and effortlessly flew around the domed temple of the power core and landed on the conveniently flat section of the temple roof. Joseph landed gently and silently next to me.

He looked troubled. "We haven't located them yet, my lord."

I corrected him. "You're not supposed to be looking for them." When he said nothing, I continued, "focus on the cloning facilities below the capitol."

Joseph nodded solemnly, adding, "yes, my lord."

I thought I would play with my first general just a bit. "This should be fun for you." My eyes glinted with mischief, but he apparently missed all of the cues.

His eyes widened. "What will, my lord?" He asked.

I

shoved him off the edge of the temple. Fortunately, he didn't fight the loss of a stable foundation beneath his feet and allowed himself to free fall. I was impressed. A resounding, "yessssss," drifted up towards me.

I was even more impressed to see that just as he was about to hit the ground in a resounding 'splat' when a small circular area opened up and he flew like a well-trained homing pigeon returning to its roost through the opening. It, also, pleased me to see my factories working in full operational mode before the opening closed behind my first general.

My joy was short-lived! I spotted Sermoff. The cad had just nonchalantly walked through the gate and proceeded straight onto the training fields. MY training fields! I called out, "Hey Sermoff!"

Well, I'll give him points for halting in mid stride. He did not hide his displeasure. In fact, he telegraphed unbridled annoyance! Good! I might add at this point that the Nephbion standing next to him appeared equally vexed. Very good!

I lit straight into him. "So, you thought I wouldn't notice you in here with my security vision ability!" An energy sword appeared in his hand in response to my words. Clever, or so he thinks!

He ignored my words and said instead, "did you deal with Attila yet," Sermoff gave a chuckle but I could hear it up here. "Because he is Alexander's now."

I resisted the temptation to roll my eyes. Another Alexander? Really! I should have my human name be Alexander, but not yet.

I looked Sermoff straight into the eyes even though he was far away and said, "I'm guessing this Alexander is the Nephbion."

Even at the far distance I could see them both smile at my observation. I love confirmation of my observations. Satisfied, I continued, "sorry to break it to you but Attila is mine now!" Their smiles faltered. "Good luck fighting my current all of me persona." Both figures started running at full throttle toward the all-important power core.

It was time to show these two just how messed up their plan was. I filled my hands with two huge energy balls, compressed them together and while releasing the quivering, barely restrained energy mass at these two losers, I yelled, "Thor, I summon you now! Kill them both!"

Sermoff and Alexander instantly put up a blindingly white angelic shield. Simultaneously, the energy blast hit the shield and not to be out done, seven lightning bolts, compliments of Thor rained down and blasted both entities backwards, slamming them side-by-side against the wall.

Shaken but by no means out of the fight, they both sensed an other-worldly presence, curiosity overrode caution and in unison, two pairs of eyes turned their gaze upward. "Thor," they uttered in unison, then fell silent.

Standing over them, Thor looked down, smiled, well, his expression looked more like an amused snarl baring white even teeth than a genuine smile of pleasure or amusement, but it was the best he could manage under the circumstances. His words were not comforting.

"I will bathe in your blood."

Alexander, known to speak without thinking at least to Sermoff about how what he had to say would sound stated, "well, that's a little over the top," he chuckled, "even for the likes of you."

At that precise moment Lucifer landed silently on the top of the wall. He was laughing. "Only bathe!" he declared, "I'll do more than just bathe in your blood."

Sermoff's body responded non-verbally to his current situation. Millions of pin pricks of bright white lights were spreading out from his shoulders, as if being designed by remote control, was a pair of majestically formed wings any real angel would be proud to call theirs. In reality the wings were not really there, but the illusion was in place since the wings stay inside of the body.

Lucifer did not mince his words, ever. "Yours are smaller than mine," he observed. "Based on that, you must be an archangel knight." As a result, the bright lights making up the dual wing formations dimmed, flickered and disappeared.

Sermoff just didn't know when to remain silent. He forged on announcing, "Alexander is technically the most powerful one here but for right now, "I AM," he screamed. "Surrender and just let me take your place." At the last moment he noticed that I had moved into his view. "Oh, cow droppings!"

"Do

you remember how I killed you?"

"Yes,

you killed me by, ooohhhh," Sermoff stuttered. The long-buried memory returned

to his conscious self in full force.

My

eyes glowed brighter than any multifaceted blood red ruby. My body followed the

"glow bright red" memo but the red light moved to my shoulders and spread out

to form a mega massive pair of angel wings.

Livid

at being bested again and again he could not hold his tongue and said, "oh,

come on, really!"

Lucifer

added insult to Sermoff's ego by cheering, "that's my boy!"

While

Sermoff and dear old "Dad" were exchanging dubious pleasantries, I was busily

concentrating and channeling my War power. Fortunately, my mind over matter

philosophy was in full force and my skin quickly and easily morphed into my

flexible metal body. Pretty cool, too!

Seeing

that my metal body was in place, Lucifer jumped off the top of the wall and

without a sound or any warning of his next move, kicked Alexander in the face

as if his head was a soccer ball. Alexander's reflexes impressed even me, he

counters the facial assault by grabbing Lucifer's leg and slammed him into the

ground. Lucifer got up, grabbed Alexander by the neck, and lifted off the

ground carrying a flailing Alexander with him. They both slammed into the wall

and flew into the air, again!

Sermoff

was in rare form, still. "Well, are you going to come down here or am I going

to have to come …"

I

teleported behind him. He spun around which I expected him to do. I grabbed his

neck and easily lifted him into the air. And being the dedicated warrior,

knight, cold blooded killer, I tried to smite him. In reaction, his eyes and

mouth shone bright red. I was a nanosecond away from killing him like last time

but well, the scoundrel that he was had the

unmitigated gall to uppercut me with a massive angelic blast. Of course, the

blast sent me, clad in my impressively flexible metal skin, unceremoniously into

the wall. The moment I hit the wall it gave way. I passed through the jagged

opening and smashed into an overcrowded Pub on the Easlum City's side of the

wall. Talk about a security breach! Ugh! I scrambled to my feet, took a quick

glance around and noted that everyone was gathering weapons and assembling.

They had mastered the procedures for breaching the wall drills never dreaming

they'd really ever have a real deal incident.

I

looked up and witnessed Lucifer and Alexander both sending and receiving

massive amounts of angelic blasts aim directly at each other as though they had

bull's eyes painted on their chests! As these blasts connected, a massive

explosion lit up the sky with a mixture of red and white light. First, Lucifer

was blasted towards the flatlands outside of the city and a second later,

Alexander had been blasted in the direction of the Power Core Temple, and I

watched, transfixed as he literally slammed into it. Well, that's that.

I

telepathed a crucial message to both my Norse gods and my Primaral gods. The

message was simple, "surround and kill Sermoff." To my generals the message was

different, "come with me to the Power Core Temple."

I

teleported directly to the entrance of the Temple's massive and wide-open main

doorway. I immediately spotted Alexander standing underneath the power core

next to a newly created small crater. My

instincts told me to glance slightly upward and sure enough, there was indeed a

hole in the ceiling. At this point, I detected small amounts of invisible

energy emanating from both power core and the crater as well as from the hole

in the ceiling. Snared by this unexpected sight, I watched in satisfaction as

these damaged areas slowly self-repaired the current damage into nonexistence.

Bravo!

"So,"

Alexander stated in a self-assured voice, "if I destroy this white ball here,

it would be a lot easier to kill you, plus the insanely massive Army you are

building will cease to exist." He snapped his fingers, "poof, no more." He

threw his head back and emitted what sounded like a cross between a howl and a

laugh. He pointed to the Power Core which is now missing the clear black energy

shield but said nothing. Alexander the Nephbion appeared oblivious to his dire

circumstances.

All

of my Generals appeared, joined together except for Joseph who was ferociously

working on assembling my Vampire Clone Army. Mr. Great (yes! THAT Alexander of

historical significance!), Cain, Achilles and a powerful Attila had circled

around Alexander. Lucifer walked up, positioned himself to the right of me,

crossed his arms and stood still as a statue. Suddenly a massive explosion

shattered the moment. The sound seemed as though it had originated where the

Arch-knight-Sermoff battle was taking place. I looked through the eyes of Death

Dealer. Total destruction met my gaze. The battlefield was completely

destroyed. Granted, most of the carnage had taken place in the training fields

but unfortunately, some of the fighting and destruction had moved into parts of

the city. I could see that the citizens had now gathered and were fully engaged

in brutally attacking Sermoff. Satisfied, I pulled myself back into my body.

Alexander

wasn't to be ignored. He yelled. "You know this won't be enough to kill me!" It

wasn't a question. To prove his point he aimed, then sent a blast of light at

the Power Core. The hit was successful because almost immediately the entire

room went red.

The

Power Core Reaplum appeared and smacked Alexander as though he was a really

naughty child. The force of the blow sent him spiraling across the space,

hitting my statue at full throttle then fell to the floor.

The Power Core itself announced. "Last

integrity is at 90 percent. Commencing healing capabilities now."

Ian

appeared onto the scene with five heavily armored Reaplums.

Lucifer

unfolded his crossed arms. "May I?"

I

shrugged then said, "sure, why not."

Lucifer

stepped forward and dramatically snapped his fingers. Two Hell portals opened,

and ten Demons exited from each portal. Then each portal silently closed. At

this point the other three Power Core Guardian Reaplums appeared. The main Alfa

Power Core Reaplum appeared, bigger than the other four. Finally, Lander made

his appearance on my left. This is the moment Alexander got up.

He

addressed the assembled group. "That's all you've got. Give me a break," he

taunted. He split himself into two bodies and attacked us simultaneously using

blistering speed. All of us clashed with his weapons, Magic and Truth. He kept

sending blasts at the Power Core and I kept trying to block them. I looked

through Death Dealer's eyes again but this time they had Sermoff pinned down

and were trying to kill him. I don't know why I was hoping to "see" something

different. Alexander paused; this lull was all I needed to attack. I attacked

with my super frozen spear formed together from my two bracelets but as luck

would have it, he ducked. He actually had the arrogance to taunt me, "Luckily

for you Sermoff is in trouble?"

His

split self-merged back into one whole person and blasted through the dome roof.

He predictably flew over where the Sermoff battle was fought. Alexander blasted

the entire area and Sermoff flew toward Alexander. Alexander then immediately

opened up a portal. They both passed through and the portal closed as if

nothing had ever happened.

"NNNOOO!"

I yelled in rage then added, "Easlum stays on ALERT until Alexander and Sermoff

are dead." I turned saying, "I've got stuff to do."
