April 10, 2008
A lot had happened in ten days, and Alex finally felt like the world had accelerated again after those quiet mornings with Asher.
The biggest update came from Jessica.
The house was finished.
The estate stood complete, polished, and ready for a few finishing touches before the planned move-in late May. Alex arrived at the location that afternoon with Rachel, and even from the long private road leading toward the estate, the scale became obvious.
Rachel slowed the car slightly as the iron gates opened automatically, revealing a long, tree-lined driveway stretching nearly half a mile. Sculpted gardens flanked both sides, trimmed hedges forming elegant patterns while fountains shimmered under the sunlight. Security cameras sat subtly within the landscaping, almost invisible unless someone knew where to look.
Alex leaned forward slightly, eyes scanning everything. "Nice job on the hedges," he said quietly.
Jessica, seated in the back, smiled with quiet pride. "Wait until you see the interior."
The mansion came into view gradually.
Glass, marble, and stone blended into a modern architectural masterpiece. The main building stretched across multiple wings, with layered terraces overlooking the city skyline in the distance. Two helipads sat on separate elevated platforms behind the mansion, designed for quick arrivals without disturbing the main grounds.
Alex stepped out of the car and looked around slowly. Rachel and Jessica also got out of the car.
Three separate pools shimmered across the property. One infinity pool facing the skyline, another designed for private relaxation near the master wing, and a third Olympic-sized pool located near the sports complex. The sports area itself included two full courts, one indoor basketball court and one outdoor multi-purpose field for tennis, volleyball, and casual games.
Jessica walked beside him, pointing toward the garage wing. "We expanded the underground parking after your last request."
Alex followed her gaze.
The garage entrance opened into a multi-level underground facility designed to hold more than enough vehicles. Polished floors, controlled climate systems, and automated lifts lined the space.
Rachel let out a small whistle. "That's excessive."
Alex smirked faintly. "I prefer prepared."
They entered the mansion itself.
The main lobby rose three floors high with a massive glass ceiling that filled the interior with natural light. A sweeping staircase curved toward the upper level while an indoor water feature flowed along one side.
Jessica gestured toward the left wing. "Nine custom rooms, all designed individually."
Alex walked through them slowly.
Each room reflected its owner's personality.
Halle's suite featured warm tones, soft lighting, and a private terrace overlooking the gardens. Angelina's room leaned toward darker aesthetics with artistic decor and a private studio space. Scarlett's room included a personal reading lounge and floor-to-ceiling windows. Evangeline's space is connected to a small indoor garden with natural greenery.
Max's room surprised Alex slightly. It included a built-in bar, neon accents, a small lounge designed for chaotic late-night conversations, a gaming room, and the usual walk-in closet. Caroline's room balanced elegance with cozy details, including a walk-in wardrobe that Jessica had carefully designed, a section for shoes and bags.
Chloe's and Rachel's room, on the other hand, was simple with a library, workspace, a balcony overlooking the garden, and a walk-in closet. Both their rooms look kinda similar.
Jessica opened another door. "Trixie's room."
Alex stepped inside.
The room looked bright and playful with soft colors, built-in toy storage, and a small reading nook near the window. A small indoor play area connected to a private balcony secured with reinforced safety glass.
Alex smiled softly. "She's going to love this place."'
Jessica nodded before guiding them further.
The estate also included two private theaters, indoor spas, a full gym, recording studios, a podcast room for Titan productions, a conference hall, and multiple guest suites. The garden wrapped around the estate with walking paths, fountains, and shaded seating areas.
Rachel folded her arms, scanning everything. "Eight hundred million well spent."
Alex leaned slightly against the railing overlooking the main hall. "Feels like home already."
Jessica smiled. "The final touches should be over in two days."
Alex nodded. "Perfect."
"So, when are you going to move in?" Rachel asked.
"Late May," He replied.
...
The house was not the only major event.
The Oscars arrived, and Titan Studios dominated the night as usual.
Alex sat quietly at the table while Halle held his hand under the lights of the ceremony. When her category appeared, the room filled with anticipation.
"And the Oscar for Best Leading Actress goes to… Halle Berry, The Blind Side."
Halle froze for a moment, her eyes widening before she turned toward Alex. He smiled warmly and squeezed her hand before she stood. The applause filled the hall as she walked toward the stage, emotion already visible in her eyes.
She accepted the award, voice trembling slightly as she thanked the cast, the crew, and finally Alex, who simply nodded from his seat.
Later in the evening, Alex walked up to the stage himself. He won Best Original Screenplay for The Blind Side.
Another award followed.
Best Adapted Screenplay for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Then came the biggest moment.
Best Picture for The Hobbit.
Titan Studios secured another massive victory, and Peter Jackson hugged Alex warmly before stepping aside for the team.
The final surprise arrived near the end.
Best Director: Alex Wilson for Spider-Man.
The room erupted again as he walked to the stage, calm but clearly moved by the recognition. He thanked the cast, the crew, and the audience before returning to his seat.
Spider-Man also secured Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, and Best Visual Effects.
The Hobbit collected its own wins as well:
Best Costume Design.
Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
Evangeline Lily won Best Supporting Actress. Jennifer Lopez secured Best Original Score and Best Song for The Hobbit, smiling brightly as she accepted both awards.
Peter Jackson received a nomination for Best Director, though the award ultimately went to Alex, making the night even more memorable for Titan Studios.
By the end of the ceremony, Titan dominated headlines across the industry.
Another winning streak... Another historic night.
Later that night, after the Governors Ball, back at the penthouse, Halle and Evangelina placed their Oscars on the shelf while Alex set his beside theirs. They stared at the collection quietly.
Halle leaned into him with a soft smile on his left. "Not a bad week."
Alex wrapped an arm around her shoulder, glancing toward the bedroom where Asher slept peacefully. "Yeah," he said quietly. "Things are going pretty well right now."
"I still can't believe it," Evangeline whispered as Alex put his right arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer.
He looked at the awards again, then back toward the quiet room.
"Just as I promised," he added softly.
The rest of the girls were sleeping after a tiring night.
...
A few days later, Titan Studios moved straight into another major project.
The pre-production of Supergirl officially began.
The buzz spread quietly across the industry once the first casting confirmations leaked. Alexis had already been locked as Supergirl, and Kate Winslet stepping in as Poison Ivy had surprised almost everyone because Alex was once again planning to launch a new talent in Hollywood as a lead role beside a veteran, and so far, every time he launched someone, that movie and the talent both became very popular. It's like his trademark at this point. So, the other studios began watching closely again.
Now came the next major piece.
Casting of the other characters...
Alex decided to start with Harley Quinn. He knows who he wants to play the role, but for the sake of showing the world that he's fair and chooses based on audition, he decided to do the casting. Who knows, maybe he'll get some actresses to play a different role through this audition.
The casting room at Titan Studios remained simple despite the scale of the project. A long table, two chairs, a camera setup, and a small open space for performance. Alex sat in his chair. Rachel sat beside him. She was reviewing the schedule.
Alex leaned back slightly while flipping through the casting list. "How many today?"
Rachel flipped the documents. "After sorting through over a hundred applicants, the team has selected fourteen applicants. There are five newcomers recommended by agencies."
Alex nodded slowly while scanning the names. "Good. Give them one hour with the script and then we start."
Rachel stood up and took the script file. She walked out of the room. Outside, a waiting area held a mix of familiar faces and nervous newcomers. She distributed the script.
Rachel spoke calmly as she addressed them. "You have one hour to prepare. When your name is called, you'll come inside and perform. Mr. Wilson will direct the scene live."
A ripple of tension moved through the group immediately.
Rachel returned inside and closed the door behind her.
Alex smirked faintly. "You love doing that."
Rachel shrugged while leaning against the door. "Better they know early that the boss is going to take their audition."
...
[One hour later]
Rachel called the assistant who was sitting outside. "Send in Rachel McAdams."
Rachel McAdams walked in with calm confidence, though Alex noticed the slight tension in her shoulders. She greeted both of them politely before moving to the center of the room. Rachel handed her the prop bat resting near the chair, and McAdams took it with a small nod while flipping through the last few lines in her mind.
Alex leaned forward slightly. "Whenever you're ready."
McAdams exhaled slowly, then her expression shifted. Her eyes sharpened, and a playful, unpredictable energy replaced the calm composure.
She swung the bat lazily across her shoulder and tilted her head. "So let me get this straight, Mistah J says we gotta play nice? Aw, that's cute. I like nice. Nice is fun. Nice is when I don't break your kneecaps first."
She stepped forward, grin widening while she tapped the bat against her palm.
"But here's the thing, sweetheart. I get bored real easy. And when I get bored, people start bleedin'. And when people start bleedin', well..." She leaned closer toward the camera, eyes bright with mischief. "That's when I start smilin'."
She twirled the bat once and rested it behind her neck. "So you got two choices. You either run real fast... or you stay and play. But I gotta warn ya, puddin' always says I don't know when to stop."
She finished with a crooked smile that carried a light, chaotic charm.
Alex studied her carefully, fingers tapping lightly against the table. He nodded once, thoughtful.
"Good energy. A little softer than I expected, but the unpredictability is there. Try one more variation. Less playful, more dangerous."
McAdams nodded immediately and reset her posture, and delivered her lines once again.
After she left...
...
Elisha Cuthbert walked in next. She stepped into position and picked up the bat from the floor. Alex noticed she held herself differently, more grounded, less theatrical.
"Ready?" Alex asked.
Cuthbert nodded.
Her posture shifted, shoulders loosening as she leaned forward slightly. "Ohhh, you think you're tough? That's adorable. I love tough guys. They make the funniest noises when they realize they're not."
She walked slowly, dragging the bat along the floor.
"You see, puddin' always says I gotta behave. Be polite. Smile pretty. But I got a little problem..." She lifted her head, smile widening dangerously. "I don't like rules."
She suddenly snapped her gaze forward.
"And I definitely don't like you."
She swung the bat in a fast motion, stopping just short of the camera.
"So here's what's gonna happen. You're gonna drop whatever you got, you're gonna smile real nice, and you're gonna pretend you didn't just annoy the most unstable girl in the room."
She tilted her head slightly.
"Because if you don't..." Her smile softened in a chilling way. "I'm gonna redecorate this place with your teeth."
Alex leaned back, watching her closely while Rachel glanced at him briefly.
"That was solid," Alex said while nodding slowly. "You leaned into the darker tone nicely."
...
Kristen Bell entered with a lighter energy. She greeted them warmly, then stepped into position while rolling her shoulders slightly.
Alex gave a small nod.
Bell's expression shifted instantly into playful chaos.
"Oh my god, you're still standing there? That's adorable. You're like a puppy that doesn't realize it's about to get kicked."
She laughed softly, spinning an imaginary bat. She decided not to use the prop bat.
"Puddin' always says I gotta stop talkin' so much, but how can I? I mean, look at you. You're practically beggin' for a punchline."
She leaned closer, lowering her voice.
"You know what I like about chaos? Nobody expects it. One second you're talkin', next second..." She snapped her fingers. "Boom. Teeth everywhere."
She skipped back playfully, then grinned.
"Now I don't wanna hurt ya. Not really. I mean, maybe a little. But only if you keep lookin' at me like that. It's kinda rude."
She ended with a cheerful, unsettling smile.
Alex chuckled quietly.
"Interesting take," he said. "Very lively. A bit more comedic than I expected, but I like the unpredictability."
Rachel wrote something quietly on the sheet.
...
Amanda Bynes walked in next. She took a breath before stepping forward.
Her expression flipped instantly.
"Ohhh, you messed up now. Big time messed up. Puddin' told me not to play with my food, but look at you..." She giggled softly. "You look deliciously annoying."
She bounced slightly on her feet.
"I love games. You like games? I got a fun one. It's called... guess how many bones I can break before you stop screamin'."
She leaned forward with wide eyes.
"Don't worry though. I ain't mean. I'm just... creatively violent."
She swung the imaginary bat.
"Besides, puddin' says I gotta keep my temper. But he ain't here right now... so I get to decide what happens next."
She ended with a manic grin.
Alex tilted his head slightly, considering.
"Good energy. You leaned into the manic side well."
...
Fairuza Balk entered quietly, her presence immediately darker than the others. She did not say much before stepping into position.
Her expression shifted slowly, eyes narrowing.
"You ever hear that little voice in your head that tells you to run?" She smiled faintly. "You should probably listen to it."
She walked slowly in an unsettling way.
"I don't laugh much. That's puddin's thing. Me? I like the quiet before things get messy."
She leaned closer, voice dropping.
"You know what scares people the most? Not knowing when it's gonna happen."
She paused, then whispered.
"And I'm real patient."
Her gaze remained locked forward.
"So take a step back. Or don't. Either way..." She tilted her head slightly. "You're gonna bleed."
Alex's eyes sharpened slightly.
"That was very different," he said quietly. "I like the darker interpretation."
Rachel glanced at him briefly, then noted something again.
...
The audition continued on...
'Here she is...' Alex looked at the final applicant, "Margot Robbie."
