[Noon] [Alex's Room]
Alex sat on the bed with his laptop open in front of him, staring at the Universal Editor panel floating before his eyes.
He had been thinking about Titan's gaming division ever since he visited the Mass Effect team. The demo had been good, and Travis was building something special, but Alex could not stop wondering whether the Universal Editor could do more than movies, comics, books, and scripts.
Games were different.
A game needed systems, choices, voice work, coding, animations, music, combat, maps, quests, and thousands of little details that had to work together. Even with all the money in the world, creating one great game usually took years.
Alex leaned forward and looked at the panel.
"Alright," he said quietly. "Let's find out what else you can do."
He closed his eyes and thought about Dragon Age: Origins.
He remembered the Grey Wardens, the Blight, the companions, the choices, the political mess in Ferelden, and the dark fantasy tone that made the story feel personal. He did not remember every side quest or every line of dialogue, although he remembered enough of the larger picture.
The air above his desk shimmered.
A small silver pendrive appeared in front of him.
Alex caught it before it hit the floor, then turned it over in his hand with a slow, confused smile. The Titan logo was engraved on the side as if it had been made for him.
He plugged it into his laptop.
A new folder appeared immediately.

Alex clicked through the folders, and every file he expected was there.
The full game was sitting inside his laptop.
Every character model, quest, dialogue choice, soundtrack, cinematic, every animation, and every line of code had been created perfectly. There were even internal development notes, technical documents, and a full game engine package built around it.
Alex leaned back slowly as a grin spread across his face.
"Holy shit," he said. "I'm gonna take over the gaming world."
For a few seconds, he just sat there, imagining what this meant.
Dragon Age series, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Red Dead Redemption, The Witcher, Bioshock, GTA, Dead Space, and so many games from the future. Entire worlds could exist inside Titan.
He could build new studios while providing them with the outline of the game to make their job much easier. Then maybe create a couple of ghost studios to hide the fact that he could generate an entire game out of nowhere, and change the gaming industry.
Then another thought hit him.
Alex opened the GPU and console reports.
Titan's hardware teams were already working on original console and graphics card designs. Rachel had warned him that it would still take years, even with money and talent behind the project. Creating a full architecture from scratch was not something that could be rushed.
Alex stared at the reports for a moment, then looked back at the Universal Editor.
"Okay," he said, his voice growing more serious. "Let's test something bigger."
He thought about the best graphics card he remembered from 2025.
A fucking 5090.
He did not remember every technical detail. Still, he remembered the performance, architecture, power efficiency, cooling systems, and the kind of leap it represented over older hardware.
The air shimmered again.
This time, no pendrive appeared.
A graphics card materialized in front of him.
It hovered above the desk, sleek and heavy-looking, with a black metal body, silver details, and cooling fans that looked years ahead of anything available in 2008. A faint blue light ran along its side before fading out.
Alex caught it with both hands.
He stared at the card for a long moment, barely blinking.
"You've got to be kidding me," he said as he turned it over carefully. "You can do this all this time?"
He expected the usual silence.
Instead, a new message appeared across the panel.

Alex stopped moving.
He looked at the message again, then cleared his throat.
"Oh," he said quietly. "It's been a while."
That was an understatement.
He had not checked the full System panel in at least a year, maybe longer. Everything in his life had been going well, and whenever anything truly urgent appeared, the System always gave him a red warning.
There had been no warning.
Titan was growing. His films were succeeding. His family was getting bigger. Asher had changed everything. Max was carrying twins. Supergirl, Maleficent, Iron Man, Mass Effect, and a hundred other projects kept demanding his attention.
The System had become something he used when he needed it.
He had never stopped to wonder what it had been tracking in the background.
The panel flickered again.

"A hidden reward sounds either amazing or deeply suspicious," he said while staring at the list.
The System did not respond.
Alex looked toward the door, making sure nobody was about to walk in, then shut his laptop after confirming the game files were safely stored.
He focused on the floating panel again.
"Open the full notifications list," Alex said.
The panel widened, replacing the simple blue screen with several new tabs and a long list of glowing notifications.

A new message appeared beneath the list.

Alex looked mildly offended until he thought about every late-night editing session, studio crisis, sex, and baby emergency that had dragged him away from the System.
"That sounds exactly like me, unfortunately," Alex admitted while clicking the completed quest tab.
The first quest opened at once.

Alex leaned back against the chair, looking toward the pendrive still connected to his laptop.
"So I could've made games this entire time."

Alex gave the panel a dry look.
"You're enjoying this a little too much."

Alex laughed quietly, then opened the module description.

A clear outline, relevant memory, and defined creative intent are enough for authorized creations. The System will complete missing structures while preserving internal logic, character consistency, technical function, and narrative flow.
Alex looked back at the Dragon Age files on his laptop, understanding exactly what had happened.
"So I don't need to remember everything to create a game," Alex said while scrolling through the description.

A slow grin spread across Alex's face.

"Does this mean I could've helped Jimmy?" Alex asked, his voice lower than before. "...stopped his death?"
The System paused for several seconds.

The twins.
He could already imagine her reaction if he told her that the System had awarded him points because she was carrying two babies.
"She'd ask for a golden trophy for doing all the work," Alex muttered while closing the list.
The System opened the active quest tab without him touching anything.

"Fine," Alex said, his voice calm and firm. "We'll finish this one properly. Besides, I got unlimited money."
The next quest appeared.

Alex let out a slow breath, then looked toward the graphics card resting on the desk.
He had a thousand questions.
Who gave him the System?
Why did it choose him?
Whether someone was watching.
Whether his old world still existed somewhere beyond memory.
His hand hovered over the claim button.
Then another notice appeared beside the GPU.

Alex's smile returned slowly.
"So I can't hand this card to my engineers and expect them to understand it," Alex said while lifting the GPU carefully.

Alex nodded once.
"Generate the roadmap," he said. "Make the first step something Titan can realistically build within two years."
The graphics card glowed faintly in his hand.
A second pendrive appeared before him.
Alex caught it and plugged it into his laptop.

Alex stared at the files with a grin that looked far too pleased with itself.

A loud voice echoed from somewhere down the hallway before the System could answer.
"Alex! Get up here right now because Asher almost said Max!"
Alex closed his eyes and laughed.
"Duty calls," Alex said while grabbing the pendrives. He closed his laptop and got down. Then he slid the GPU and drives into a secure drawer.
The System panel remained open for another second.

Alex looked at it one last time before standing.
"Yeah," Alex said quietly. "I'll come back for that answer later."
