Almost instantly, every eye in the hallway turned toward the end of the corridor by the emergency exit, where Adrian and Ember were standing.
Ember didn't react at first. It wasn't until Adrian refused to step forward that he finally turned around a beat too late and looked at him.
"You're... not a police officer?"
Adrian: "..."
He simply blinked at Ember, as though asking, You only figured that out now?
For the first time, Ember found himself completely caught off guard.
But before he could do anything, Adrian raised both hands in surrender, stepped forward obediently, and said, "I know impersonating a police officer is a crime. Officers, please arrest me."

And just like that, Adrian was handcuffed and taken away.
