The Price of Loss (Part 5)
The beggar tried once again to protect Billy when the shopkeeper wanted to attack the cat. At that moment, as the beggar stepped forward to face the shopkeeper, the shopkeeper slapped him hard and threw him to the ground. The beggar began to cry, and the shopkeeper said:
- "You little brat, this is still too little for you."
- "But why? What do you want from this cat?" the beggar asked through his tears.
- "Because this little worthless creature, whom your'e re protecting so much, stole my sausage."
- "I'll find money and pay for your sausage, just leave the cat alone."
- "You cat'n even find money for yourself, let alone pay for my sausage!" The shopkeeper angrily said and tried to grab the cat again. Meanwhile, the beggar, crying, got up, and Billy, terrified, fled the shop. The beggar ran after Billy, and just then, a speeding car came rushing toward Billy. The beggar jumped in front of Billy, grabbed him, and quickly pushed him onto the sidewalk. The car hit the beggar, and the shopkeeper, frightened, ran away from the scene.
