Chapter 164 - CHAPTER 164

"There's no need to get angry, Hanzō of the Salamander. I'm merely discussing the facts."

As a seasoned shinobi, Tsunade possessed a natural caution, though her youth still left room for occasional miscalculations. Even her earlier mocking of Mizuki Ryosuke's demeanor was, in truth, a deliberate provocation—an attempt to manipulate the conversation towards the inevitable conclusion of a "gambling contract."

This level of audacity and strategic foresight made it clear why she would one day be recognized as one of the legendary Sannin. However, at this moment, she lacked the battle-hardened experience of Hanzō, a man already infamous as a veteran of the ninja world, whose reputation was cemented during the Second Shinobi World War.

Hanzō's anger flickered momentarily before he let out a scoff. The tension in the air thickened as the ever-present rain of Amegakure swirled into spiraling droplets before scattering onto the ground.

At that moment, the still-fledgling Tsunade, not yet carrying the burden of the countless wars and losses she would later endure, chose to act with boldness. Unaware of the deeper intricacies of Amegakure's inner conflicts, she was ready to move forward.

To Hanzō, Mizuki Ryosuke's smile—calm and unshaken despite the situation—was more unsettling than any overt act of hostility. Could Ryosuke truly predict the tides of the ninja world with mere conjecture and limited intelligence?

Navigating through the concealed underground tunnels of Amegakure, Tsunade finally arrived at her destination—the heavily guarded compound of Hanzō himself. She had managed to slip past the village's usual surveillance, but she knew that her next steps would require something beyond mere stealth.

As she entered, the sound of heavy impacts reverberated through the mansion, evidence of ongoing battle or resistance. She paused, analyzing the situation. Then, without hesitation, she made her decision.

"I accept," she declared.

The weight of her words solidified the inevitability of the situation.

Ryosuke's expression did not change. "Good. Now, Hanzō of the Salamander, would you care to place a bet?"

Tsunade's approach was as direct as her fighting style—she would smash through anyone who got in her way. Her skill in Taijutsu and the Strength of a Hundred Seal would one day make her feared, but here, her reputation had yet to fully mature.

Ryosuke had already calculated the outcome. The bet he proposed was one that Hanzō could neither evade nor refuse.

Hanzō exhaled sharply. "Hmph."

He had expected resistance, but not this level of unshakable confidence. He found himself reluctantly following Ryosuke's pace, entrapped in his conversational rhythm, unable to break free from the strategic trap that had been laid.

Tsunade's presence in the heart of Amegakure was already an anomaly, a provocation that even Hanzō had not anticipated.

Ignoring Hanzō's grim expression, Ryosuke continued, his tone like a devil whispering in the ears of mortals, tempting them to sign away their souls.

"Once a plan is set into motion, hesitation only invites failure," Ryosuke said.

Tsunade, having decided, moved with certainty. She circled the compound with sharp perception, seeking weak points in the security.

Rain Shinobi operatives lurked in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity.

As Tsunade entered the mansion, a single drop of rain followed Ryosuke's gesture, tracing his movement to form the symbol for "Uzumaki."

Then, the silence was shattered.

BOOM!

With a single punch, two guards crashed into the walls, instantly incapacitated. Tsunade did not hesitate. Her mastery of Yang Release: Strength of a Hundred Technique meant her raw power outmatched most shinobi, and her speed left only an afterimage in her wake.

The Rain Shinobi, who had barely registered her presence, were stunned by the sheer force behind her movements.

"Stop her!" someone shouted.

But it was too late.

Tsunade's assault had already begun.

Meanwhile, Hanzō of the Salamander's mind churned. Ryosuke's words echoed in his thoughts, their implications gnawing at him.

Even knowing the gamble involved, he still found himself cornered.

"This is the end of it," Ryosuke said with a smile, "Now, I assume you wouldn't mind doing me a small favor?"

Hanzō narrowed his eyes. "… Speak."

Though they had only just solidified their "cooperative" arrangement, he was now wary of whatever favor Ryosuke would ask.

But the true threat was not the favor itself—it was the fact that Hanzō had already lost control of the negotiation.

"Simple," Ryosuke said. "Within your capabilities, of course."

Hanzō hesitated. Was this a mere request, or another web being spun around him?

Annoyance flickered across Hanzō's face, but beneath that, he felt something far worse.

Fear.

Meanwhile, Tsunade studied the darkened mansion. On the surface, it appeared that only a handful of guards were stationed, a seemingly light defense for the stronghold of Amegakure's leader.

It was a deliberate deception.

The silence was a trap.

But Tsunade, despite her immense talent, lacked the deep perception abilities of sensory-type shinobi. She had miscalculated.

And now, she was walking directly into the jaws of the beast.

As she stepped forward, the Rain Shinobi, lying in wait, prepared to strike.

Hanzō, however, turned his gaze back to Ryosuke.

"You really are dangerous," he muttered.

If this was merely the Fourth Mizukage's opening move, then the rest of the game had already been set.
