Chapter 192 - Preparations

In Astria, a messenger bird flew toward a noble's house, landing at the topmost room where Arizona was standing by the window. "So, what news have you brought me now?" he wondered, taking the paper from the bird's leg and reading it.

The message stated: "Piers has taken over many regions of the Principality. We are unable to stop him with our current power, and if Piers continues his advances, there is a high probability that he is going to conquer the Principality completely and head for Astria. So, we are calling for an extreme revolution as it is both in the interest of our organization and a necessary step."

Arizona was surprised. "I can't believe this—Piers would be able to shake the entire Principality to its core. But he does after all have Rei's body, so it's no wonder." Arizona quickly packed his things and went downstairs.

The noble, seeing him leave, asked, "Oh, Master, did we do something wrong? Why are you leaving?"

"No, I have gotten some more urgent matters. I hope we can continue our negotiations after my task is completed," Arizona replied.

"Of course, I would be happy," the noble said. With that, Arizona left.

Within the Revolutionaries' headquarters, Alya was working through the paperwork Ben had left behind when a bird flew into the room. "A messenger bird? Is it from Ben?" Alya took the message and read it and then thought. "There seems to be an awful lot going on in the Principality. Using the extreme revolution will leave us vulnerable, however, there is not much we can do. Attendant, call Aria and Dallas. I need some magic formation and weapons to take." Alya immediately began her preparations to depart.

In another noble house, many guards were attacking the revolutionary, the noble was associated with Ben's sister, making it an enemy target. Revolutionary soldiers, including Levi, were taking cover.

"Master, what should we do?" a soldier asked.

"Don't worry, I might have an idea," Levi said. A bird arrived, and Levi quickly read the message. "Master, what's wrong?" the soldier asked.

"We have to finish this fast," Levi said, taking out a magic bazooka and firing it at the enemy guards, killing several. "Everyone, attack!"

However, from the smoke and flames, a man carrying a great sword emerged. "Levi, we meet again."

Levi threw the bazooka aside. "Yeah, Commander. Didn't know you started serving a noble."

"Times have changed, Levi. Why don't you come with me? I can get you into the noble's army," the Commander offered.

"Not happening."

"Then you die." The Commander charged, but Levi took out a magic pistol and shot at him. The Commander used his great sword as a shield and stopped the shots, swinging the sword as if its weight were nothing. Levi drew an enlarging shield that transformed into a long shield, stopping the attack.

"You have some great toys, I like it," the Commander said.

"You have not seen it all." Levi dropped a magic bomb and retreated. The Commander, confused, was caught in the blast, which injured him severely. Levi returned, pistol drawn. "Accept the fate—you are beaten."

"If I had such great toys, I would have won too," the Commander complained.

"But you don't." Levi took the Commander with him to Asgard and left the remaining soldiers to finish the fight. After dropping the Commander at the revolutionary headquarters, Levi left for the Principality.

Within the Imperial building, Kisa and Lisa were reporting to a general when a bird landed.

"What is this bird?" the general asked.

"It seems to be a type of messenger bird, but we have not used a bird before," Kisa said.

"There is a paper in its legs." Lisa took the paper. "It's a message from Bret."

"Bret, but he is on an undercover mission."

Lisa read the message: "General, Kisa, and Lisa, I hope you are getting this message because it's important. Within the Principality, a war has begun which might decide the fate of other countries. A young boy named Piers has gotten the powers of Mephisto and is destroying all the Devil and Guardian Holder branches. However, I think his ambitions are much greater: he wants control over the entire Principality. But in this final fight, we might get a chance to stop him. I request you to deploy Lisa and Kisa on the field because this decision of yours might change the result of the war."

The general was shocked. "Now that is news I was not expecting to hear."

"We must go, sir," Kisa urged.

"We don't know the reality there. If it's as bad as this, then we will just be sending you to your death," the General countered.

"Sir, either you send us, or we will go there after resigning from the Imperial Guards," Lisa declared. The general saw the absolute determination in their expressions.

"Okay then, I give you the permission to go to the Principality. However, you must return within a year," the General conceded.

"Yes, sir," Kisa and Lisa said, immediately leaving to pack.

In the Crimson City, an old lady was lying on a bed. "I am feeling so bad. I got so angry at Lyla. I hope she could..." She started coughing.

The boy beside her, Tylon, comforted her. "You should not force yourself to talk. Master, Lyla knew about your poison which makes you angry. She has definitely forgiven you."

The old lady put her hand on Tylon's cheek, and a tear fell. "My boy, I was not able to teach you and Lyla much, but I am happy that I got the two of you in my life. My only regret is being angry all the time." With that, she closed her eyes and passed away.

"It was a short time, but I am glad you were with us. I am sure Lyla is glad too," Tylon murmured.

Tylon held a funeral for his master. A few days later, while standing in front of her grave, Tylon felt alone. Suddenly, a bird landed on his shoulder. "Who are you, little one?" Tylon took the paper from its leg. "It's from Lyla."

He read it: "I tried finding medicinal recipes for Master, but if my fears are true, I guess... Sorry, I don't want to complete the sentence." Tylon nodded, tears in his eyes. "Me too," he whispered.

The message continued: "The recipe for the medicine I found is in the next paper, but if you could come, I will be happy to. I need your assistance in the Principality. The exact details are on the back of the paper. I hope you don't show up."

Tylon chuckled. "That's not going to happen." He immediately headed for the Principality.

In the Principality, a carriage stopped in front of the royal palace. Four people emerged: three men and one woman. They were the heads of the former Devil Hell Branch—Cary, Zain, Jett, and Kage.

Soon, another carriage arrived, bringing four more people—the heads of the Guardian Heaven Branch.

The Royal Spokesperson greeted them and led them to a room where three Royal Advisors, the four Devil Hell Branch heads, and the four Guardian Heaven Branch heads were present.

The Royal Advisor began, "We need to do something about Piers. He has been getting full of himself lately and has gained control over three to four cities as well."

The Guardian Heaven Branch head accused, "It's the Devil Hell Branch's fault! That boy belonged to their branch, and they were not able to control it!"

"Might I remind you that Zen worked as your spy and he raised it? It is your fault, and we want compensation," Zain retorted.

The Royal Advisors, secretly controlled by demons, were generally uninterested in Piers since they didn't know he was Rei and connected to Kaiser. However, Piers's destruction was becoming a liability, as he was covering up the tracks of Kaiser's team, whom the demons were trying to find.

The Royal Advisor interrupted the bickering. "How about this: first, we focus on defeating Piers. Then, we can divide his possessions and other things."

Given Piers possessed the Holy Sword, the Guardian Heaven Branch objected. "What if we don't get what we want at the end of the battle? I say we should first divide his things and then attack."

Cary countered, "How can we be certain you will fulfill your role? For all we know, you might run away mid-battle and, at the end of the battle, take all the possessions for yourself."

The Royal Advisor (the demon in disguise) was getting impatient but held his tongue. After a grueling eight hours, all the negotiations were complete. A final war was set to happen between Piers and the unified forces of the Royals, Devil Holders, and Guardian Holders.
