Chapter 231: Alchemy Fountain and Gardener's Pot
Bolton Lands, Underground Base
POV of Domeric Bolton
Just as Domeric was considering calling out to Dobby to tidy up, he was stopped by a magical sensation coming from the Deathly Hallows tattoo on his right hand.
After a long hiatus, the Deathly Hallows tattoo had finally absorbed enough magic again, and Domeric could now claim a new reward.
If Domeric hadn't been forced to go on an expedition and leave his own lands, the Deathly Hallows tattoo would likely have absorbed the necessary magic more quickly. But there was nothing Domeric could do about it.
He needed to go beyond the Wall at that time, and unfortunately, the lands beyond the Wall held very little magic.
Or rather, it would be more accurate to say that there is very little magic anywhere outside the lands of Bolton.
Domeric wouldn't be surprised if his lands were now considered sacred ground belonging to the Old Gods. And it wouldn't be far from the truth.
After all, he was the one who had received the blessings of two Old Gods and was a champion of one. And this was the land where he lived.
Domeric raised his right hand and stared at the golden Deathly Hallows tattoo that had appeared on the back of his hand.
Actually, Domeric expected the System that Lady Death had bestowed upon him to activate before his tattoo could absorb enough magic again.
But apparently, he was mistaken. He didn't know what percentage of the System's configuration was. Beyond the initial message the System had sent, he received no further messages, no matter what he did or said.
But Domeric could sense that the System's configuration wasn't far off from completion. Soon, Domeric would gain the interface that Lady Death had spoken of, along with a few new special powers.
Domeric couldn't wait for that day to come, but right now he wanted to focus on the reward ahead. The last Level-4 reward was the Imposter Queen Mannequin, and before that, Domeric had the chance to reunite with Dobby.
Therefore, Domeric had high hopes for the next Red Orb.
Domeric channeled some magic into his Deathly Hallows tattoo, as he had done many times before. And the next moment, his consciousness entered the Endless Void.
But a while later, Domeric became disappointed after examining the reward inside the level-4 red orb.
Inside the red orb were two dragon eggs, one male, one female. But these dragons were from Domeric's old world. Common Welsh Greens, to be exact.
Even though these dragon eggs were easier to hatch than the dragon eggs of this world, it couldn't be said that this reward would be of much use to Domeric.
First of all, the dragons of this world were much stronger than those of his old world, and when they grew up, they could grow much larger.
Furthermore, through the Dragonlord ritual, he could form a bond with the dragons of this world and become a dragon rider.
Domeric believed that since he had obtained these Common Welsh Green eggs through the Deathly Hallows, these dragons would likely see him as their master. But he thought the bond he would form with the dragons of this world after the Dragonlord ritual would be more powerful.
Moreover, it wasn't appropriate for Domeric to have dragons roaming around right now. Otherwise, he would have already hatched one of his dragon eggs and started breeding his own.
Domeric was waiting for the right time. Otherwise, everyone in the Seven Kingdoms would unite and attack him before his dragons even grew.
However, obtaining living beings, or rather magical beings, from the red orbs three times in a row led Domeric to a conclusion on this matter.
Level 1 White orbs contained mundane knowledge or mundane items as rewards.
Level 2 Green orbs contained basic or low-level magical knowledge as rewards.
Level 3 Blue orbs contained magical items or higher-level magical knowledge as rewards.
And Level 4 Red orbs contained magical creatures as rewards.
At least that's the impression Domeric got from the awards he'd received or seen so far.
So Domeric shifted his focus from the level-4 red orb to the two newly appeared level-3 blue orbs. Perhaps he could find some valuable magic item or information among them.
He already knew the rewards in the blue orbs that had appeared in previous times, and frankly, there wasn't anything particularly interesting among them.
So, if he couldn't find anything interesting in these two new blue orbs, he was considering choosing a few of the green or white orbs instead. White orbs, in particular, contained knowledge that could allow him to develop his lands further.
After all, if Domeric didn't choose the red orb, he could choose two blue, four green, or eight white orbs instead. And eight different types of mundane knowledge could greatly benefit him in developing his lands.
But all of Domeric's plans were sidelined entirely when he learned about the reward from the first newly appearing blue orb. He would definitely choose this reward; there was no doubt about it.
Alchemy Fountain. That was the name of the reward in the blue orb.
But its appearance had nothing to do with a fountain. It was a wooden barrel with four taps attached to the bottom.
However, Domeric had no intention of paying attention to its appearance, for he knew full well what it was capable of.
The Alchemy Fountain was a magical item that could produce any liquid. It contained a unique magical space and could produce four different liquids simultaneously.
It had two basic functions.
The first function was to copy a liquid placed inside it and then infinitely transform water into that liquid. However, changing water into the desired liquid required constant magic, and this method could require a considerable amount of magic depending on the type of liquid to be produced.
The second function was that if ingredients from a recipe were placed inside, the Alchemy Fountain could produce the corresponding liquid according to the recipe. In this case, if water wasn't already in the recipe, it wasn't required, and the magic required was significantly less.
But what nearly made Domeric dance with joy was that the Alchemy Fountain contained countless recipes for liquids, both from this world and Domeric's old world.
Potions, wines and other alcoholic beverages, sodas and other beverages, and, most intriguingly for Domeric, Magical Ink recipes.
Frankly, Domeric found the timing of this reward quite telling and suspected Lady Death had a hand in it. But even if so, Domeric couldn't have objected.
On the contrary, he was grateful, and he had only one thing to say to her: "Lady Death, I love you."
Domeric quickly grabbed the blue orb containing the Alchemy Fountain and then examined the other blue orb.
He had just wanted to finish selecting his other reward and wanted to go back and craft a magical ink usable by ordinary people. This magical ink would save him time on many matters and allow him to focus on his other, more critical projects.
The reward inside the other blue orb was called the Gardener's Pot, which could produce unlimited magical fertilizers if sufficient soil and magic were provided.
Like the Alchemy Fountain, the Gardener's Pot had its own magical space.
This reward was more than a blessing for Domeric. Ever since he had increased and accelerated crop production with his rune circles, the soil's mineral content had been depleted rapidly.
Although Domeric used various fertilizers and balancing runes to address this, he would still encounter problems in the long run.
But now, with the Gardener's Pot, he could overcome this problem.
"Lady Death, I absolutely love you," Domeric said, grabbing his second blue orb and leaving the Endless Void.
