Before his drug-riddled brain could even begin to process what kind of invisible anomaly he had just struck, or why my skull wasn't painted across the ground in pieces of flesh, bone and blood everywhere as he hoped it would be, I jumped into action.
Launching myself upward from the ground, I threw my legs up and wrapped them securely around his thick, mutated neck, locking him into a brutal scorpion embrace, the kind I've seen in kung fu movies.
Zero growled savagely, rearing back up to his full, towering height as I mounted him.
