234: Slime's Evolution Sequence
Su Ningyu had to personally choreograph the dance for Little Bell's evolution.
A person with zero dance foundation had to choreograph a dance for a tamed beast.
Su Ningyu felt that this evolution condition might be a joke from the heavens.
But he had no other choice and could only bite the bullet.
Lately, he would lock himself in his room every night, clumsily twisting his body in front of the mirror, trying to find that feeling of "dancing with flowers."
Little Bell floated nearby, tilting its flower bud to watch him, occasionally letting out a "qiu-mi," wondering why he was doing such a dance.
Fortunately, Su Ningyu's current physical fitness far exceeded that of ordinary people.
The tempering of the Stellar Breathing Technique had brought his body's flexibility and coordination to a considerable height.
Although his dance moves couldn't be called graceful, at least the movements were executed correctly.
He was confident that he could finish choreographing the dance before Coal Ball finished its evolution.
Right now, Coal Ball—
This was his current top priority.
Lucky Frog and Little Bell were both improving steadily, and Slime was growing at an incredible speed.
Soaring all the way from Black Iron Rank 3 to Black Iron Rank 9, the speed was fast enough to surprise even Su Ningyu.
It was probably because the training intensity in the Mirror World was too high.
That once empty-headed Little Jelly had its potential forced out under the "devastation" of Ballot and Vivien Leigh.
Black Iron Rank 9; it was already ready for evolution.
Su Ningyu sat in a corner of the Mirror World with a blank notebook spread out before him.
Slime lay at his feet, its pale blue body rising and falling slightly, as if it were dozing.
But its tentacles would occasionally lift a bit, secretly observing its master's expression.
It felt that the way its master looked at it today was a bit different.
Bloodline Catalog, activate.
In Su Ningyu's consciousness, Slime's evolution chart slowly unfolded.
The dense sequence paths were spread out like a galaxy, each pointing to a different future.
[Sea God - Deep Sea Sequence]
Water Element Slime.
Evolution conditions: Black Iron Rank 9, Water Element Evolution Potion.
This was the most conventional evolution route. The evolved Water Element Slime could exert extremely strong combat power in water and was one of the most common Slime evolution forms in the Caesar Federation.
[Dionysus - Toxic Sequence]
Corrosive Slime.
Evolution conditions: Black Iron Rank 9, Toxic Evolution Potion.
This kind of Slime was covered in highly acidic venom, capable of corroding even metal wherever it passed, making it a quite dangerous poison-type tamed beast.
[Beast God - Ancient Sequence]
Giant Slime.
Evolution conditions: Black Iron Rank 9, Beast Evolution Potion.
This kind of Slime would swell to dozens of times its original size, crushing enemies with pure physical force. Its intelligence wouldn't improve much, but its destructive power was astonishing.
There was also the Angel God - Angel Sequence's Light Element Slime.
The sun god - Blazing Sun Sequence's Fire Element Slime.
The Death God - Ghost Sequence's Ghost Slime...
Different sequences corresponded to different attributes, and every single one had been researched, bred, and combat-tested by someone in the Caesar Federation.
The paths were clear, the Materials were definite, and the success rate was guaranteed.
Su Ningyu looked through them one by one, his brows furrowing slightly.
These sequences were all very mature.
Maturity meant stability, a high success rate, and that predecessors had already stepped in all the pitfalls.
The Caesar Federation had studied Slimes for hundreds of years, and these evolution routes had long been thoroughly understood.
Which path required what Materials, what problems would be encountered along the way, and what height the final form could reach—there were ready-made data and experience for everything.
If he chose any of them, the little Slime's evolution would go very smoothly.
But Su Ningyu didn't want that.
What he wanted was not a "standard" Slime, but a unique tamed beast that belonged only to him.
Just as Little Bell had embarked on the sacred branch of the Blazing Sun Sequence, Lucky Frog had awakened the prototype of the Fortune God Sequence, and Coal Ball had inherited the Fox of Calamity's demon god sequence.
The path he wanted to give Slime was also a distinct one.
The Bloodline Catalog continued to scroll down.
He skipped the conventional sequences one by one, his gaze lingering on the paths labeled "rare," "uncommon," or "unknown."
Then, he saw a sequence that made his eyes light up.
Thousand-Faced God - Fusion Sequence.
Evolutionary Form: Myriad Slime.
Su Ningyu's gaze was locked onto this information, his heart rate accelerating slightly.
Myriad Slime.
This evolutionary form was an extremely rare variant in the "beast taming sequence" game, not something that could be obtained through conventional evolution.
Its birth was often accompanied by special opportunities, special Materials, or special breeding techniques.
And once the evolution was successful, this Slime would possess an extremely Heaven-Defying ability—Armament.
The corners of Su Ningyu's mouth slowly curled up.
"This is very interesting," he whispered.
The Slime's tentacles at his feet suddenly stood up, its pale blue body glowing slightly, as if asking: Master, have you chosen? Choose me, choose me!
Su Ningyu glanced down at it and reached out to flick its bouncy body.
"Don't be in a hurry, let me research it some more. The evolution conditions for the Myriad Slime aren't that simple."
The Slime wobbled from the flick, let out a "gu," and lay back down, but its tentacles remained upright, never lowering for a moment.
Su Ningyu turned to a new page in his notebook, wrote down the words "Myriad Slime," and then listed Slime's evolution conditions below.
Su Ningyu's pen tip tapped lightly on the paper, making a rhythmic "ta-ta" sound.
Slime lay at his feet, secretly opening its eyes to look at its master's serious, thinking profile.
It didn't quite understand what an evolution sequence or an Myriad Slime was, but it could feel its master putting effort into it.
That feeling was wonderful.
Slime: Happy.
Back when it was in the Secret Realm's lake, it was just an ordinary Water Slime. All it did every day was float on the water's surface to sunbathe, occasionally bouncing around with its companions.
Its consciousness was pitifully simple; it only knew to absorb energy from the water when hungry and curl into a ball to sleep when tired.
After being brought out of the Secret Realm by its master, it was scared at first.
That woman with the whip was too terrifying.
That sunflower that breathed fire all day was too fierce.
That White Jade Toad's talent was too disgusting.
It huddled in the corner shivering every day, feeling like it might not survive to the next.
But gradually, it discovered some different things.
Its master would prepare Nutrient Solutions for it; although they didn't taste great, its body would feel warm every time it finished drinking.
Well, Slime's little brain had already forgotten about the Demon Su Ningyu feeding it Research Potions.
Little Bell would share some energy with it, even though it always "qiu-mi qiu-mi"-ed in disdain of its stupidity.
Lucky Frog would occasionally hop over to it, pat its body with its claws, and then say a bunch of things it couldn't understand.
Even the most terrifying Vivien Leigh would sometimes poke it gently with the galaxy whip after training to make sure it hadn't been trained to death.
It began to feel that this place didn't seem so scary after all.
Now, its master was researching an evolution plan for it.
