Chapter 202 - 26 of "The Wizard Begins with Occlumency": Provocation

Mina opened her mouth.

She wanted to explain, to show that she had no intention of harming Jasmine.

But the words caught in her throat.

Did she really not know the danger of controlling Jasmine and handing her over to Rivers?

She herself had been violated by Rivers because she was powerless to resist!

Link raised his right hand, refusing to listen to Mina's nonsense, and bluffed, "We've guessed what you and Enrique are planning. Now we're giving you two choices: cooperate with us, and everyone's happy; or don't cooperate, and we'll tell Rivers what you did."

  Mina panicked upon hearing this.

She wasn't afraid of Rivers retaliating after finding out what she had done; she was afraid that she would finally find a way to get revenge on Rivers, only to fail.

  Revenge had become Mina's obsession.

"How do you want me to cooperate?"

Mina asked tentatively, clinging to a sliver of hope.

"Don't worry, I won't make things difficult for you."

Link smiled and said calmly, "As far as we know, Enrique isn't a good person either. All you have to do is tell Enrique that Rivers knows about his betrayal."

  "That's it?"

  Mina was a little skeptical.

  "That's it."

  Link nodded calmly.

He took out his personal smart device and, in front of Mina, added Rivers Francis as a friend.

While operating it, Link turned and left, gesturing for Molly and Mina to leave the lounge with him first.

  …

  Rivers' mood improved.

Lately, everything had gone wrong, one bad thing after another. Today,

his luck turned around, and he felt like the smooth sailing and wishful thinking of the past few months were finally coming true.

First, that annoying Link Grand got beaten up and even begged for mercy, promising to avoid him from now on.

  Happy.

Before the joy could completely fade, Enrique brought more good news.

Molly Kidman had actually been taken hostage by Enrique's people!

Moreover, the place controlling her was a small cabin by a lakeside lawn.

  This completely excited Rivers!

The mention of the cabin reminded Rivers of last year, during his first month studying the "Rage of the Breath Meditation Method," when he was there.

He couldn't wait to head towards the cabin,

  focusing intently on his journey.

He didn't even notice the undisguised mockery in Enrique's eyes, nor did he know where Enrique had disappeared along the way.

  However…

just as he reached the lakeside, before even stepping onto the lawn and seeing no sign of the cabin, his personal AI began relentlessly vibrating.

Rivers' face darkened, and his mood became irritable.

Who was so inconsiderate as to disturb him at this crucial moment?

He roughly pulled out his personal AI and saw that it was Link Grand sending him friend requests.

  "This?"

Rivers was puzzled, somewhat confused about what Link Grand was up to.

Burning with lust, his eyes bloodshot, Rivers was about to instinctively put away his personal AI and ignore Link when his last vestiges of reason stopped him.

  Something was amiss.

Link Grand's contact at this juncture must have a reason; he'd see what he had to say.

Rivers accepted Link's friend request, ready to see what trouble Link was up to.

"Have you reached the lakeside lawn, Rivers Francis?"

To his astonishment, Link's first message left Rivers bewildered and filled with suspicion.

How did he know he'd be here at this hour?

  "Molly Kidman has already left;

your arrival is pointless." The second message enraged Rivers.

  Ridiculous, blatant sarcasm.

"I knew last night you were going to have someone teach me a lesson, and in the end, I swindled you out of ten magic stones."

  The third message infuriated Rivers.

This wasn't just sarcasm; it was humiliation!

He just wanted to burn Link Grand to ashes and scatter his ashes everywhere.

"Think about how the information was leaked. Friendly reminder: a lamp can illuminate many places, but it often shines in darkness beneath."

The fourth sentence helped Rivers regain his rationality, bringing his intelligence back to its peak.

Yes, only he, Enrique, and the five new recruits who accepted the commission knew the information; it was obvious who leaked it.

"We have no grudges against each other, we just want to study peacefully. Your enemy isn't us."

The fifth sentence completely calmed Rivers down, allowing him to resist his burning desire and think rationally.

He began to reflect on his recent experiences and realized he seemed to have become too reliant on Enrique.

Enrique did everything, and everything Enrique said sounded reasonable; he listened to everything.

The girls who fit his preferences but ultimately led him astray were all found by Enrique; the talk about Link Grand ignoring him and the girls' increased wariness was also Enrique's doing.

Everything, the crux of the matter, lay with Enrique! "

I never expected this! You, with your thick eyebrows and big eyes, would resort to underhanded

  tactics!"

Rivers gritted his teeth, his anger rising.

He decided to teach Enrique a lesson and punish him.

  Betrayal was unforgivable!

With this thought in mind, Rivers stopped walking towards the lakeside lawn and turned back.

He was going to settle accounts with Enrique!

  ...

  On the other side.

After sending five messages, Link immediately deleted Rivers from his "friends" list.

The thought of Rivers, this perverted rapist, disgusted Link; how could he possibly let him be his "friend"?

Although he adhered to the principles of harmony and peace, it didn't mean Link lacked basic morality or the ability to tolerate a scoundrel like Rivers.

He didn't personally deal with Rivers simply because he didn't want to dirty his hands.

  "Now it's your turn,"

  Link said to Mina.

Since things had come to this, there was no other way.

Mina gritted her teeth and made a decision. She also sent a message to Enrique through her personal smart device: "The plan has failed. Rivers knows you betrayed him." "

  ???"

Enrique was so shocked he couldn't speak, expressing his feelings with symbols.

  What the hell happened?

The plan was going well, how did it suddenly turn into this mess?

Does Rivers want to burn me to ashes now?

  I can't beat him!
