A great surge of blood spurted from Hiruzen Sarutobi's mouth, his body staggering from the relentless assault. The aging Third Hokage was weakening fast, and his pale face told the tale of his draining stamina and spiritual exhaustion.
"I never expected Hui's strength to be this overwhelming… and his techniques—utterly foreign and terrifying."
Sarutobi's mind cursed Danzo countless times. At this point, he deeply regretted being manipulated into shielding Root's corruption.
Hui had no intention of holding back. The actions of the Third Hokage—knowingly allowing Danzo to experiment with forbidden techniques—had ignited his fury. Though he refrained from killing a Hokage, a lesson had to be taught.
"Suiton: Mizu no Yaiba!" (Water Style: Water Blade Slash)
Hui drew a kunai and enveloped it with high-density water chakra. Activating the Body Flicker Technique and combining it with Kaguya's propulsion method under his feet, his speed increased explosively.
"So fast!"
The Third Hokage's eyes widened with disbelief.
"That wasn't even Hui's maximum speed earlier," Uchiha Fugaku observed from the sidelines, his Sharingan spinning furiously. Even with it, he could only barely track Hui's movements. Reacting to it? Impossible.
The propulsion technique, derived from Kaguya's physical mastery and forceful chakra output from the feet, boosted Hui's velocity to a level approaching even the Fourth Hokage's body flicker, minus the Flying Thunder God.
Hiruzen raised his adamantine staff in defense. Reflexively, he lifted it over his head just as Hui's kunai collided with it.
Clang!
The water chakra-enhanced kunai met the indestructible adamantine staff, sparks flying as the two forces clashed.
Uchiha Fugaku's brow furrowed as he exhaled in tension. That strike… if not blocked, would have split the Hokage's skull clean open.
Luckily, Hui was considered Orochimaru's assistant, not an Uchiha. That distinction would save their clan from unnecessary suspicion and blame.
"Hmm?" Hui's gaze shifted behind the Third Hokage, toward the direction of the Senju compound.
"Tsunade's coming."
A bit late—but understandable. Hui's swift return from the battlefield using flight had far exceeded Tsunade's anticipated timeline.
Still, she wasn't quite at the battlefield yet. A few minutes remained—just enough.
Hui's eyes sharpened with intent. His chakra surged again as he used the Body Flicker and propulsion simultaneously, appearing suddenly at the Hokage's right.
Clang!
Another blade met the adamantine staff, but this time the force pushed Hiruzen backward several meters. The Third Hokage dug in his heels, leaving long gouges in the ground as his hands trembled from the sheer power of the blow.
"So much strength…"
Hiruzen realized now that Hui's physical capabilities were exceptional. With a powerful body, the Body Flicker Technique was naturally devastating.
Hui flipped gracefully through the air, spinning his body with agility before another kunai slash came crashing down.
The Third Hokage raised the adamantine staff again—boom! The impact cracked the earth beneath him, causing the ground to collapse beneath his feet.
But Hui wasn't finished.
Water chakra surged violently as it twisted around the kunai. Hui infused it with natural energy—his hands glowing with concentrated senjutsu.
Sage Art: Qi Yuan Slash!
Camouflaging the Qi Yuan Slash within the Water Blade Slash, Hui brought it down with terrifying might.
Buzz!
The air shrieked with the vibration. The Third Hokage was launched backward. His staff slipped from his hands mid-flight.
The adamantine staff transformed back into the Monkey King Enma—Sarutobi's personal summon—who howled in agony.
"Oouuuhhh!!"
Enma's form was ghastly. His chest was pierced clean through, blood gushing from the wound.
Hiruzen landed hard, dazed, and unresponsive.
The famed indestructible adamantine staff—had been split.
"Hisss…"
Fugaku gritted his teeth, eyes widening. Even his advanced Sharingan saw it clearly—Hui had split the adamantine staff down the middle.
Even Enma, who possessed a body tougher than steel due to his King Kong transformation, had been wounded severely.
But Hui wasn't surprised.
Indestructible? Nonsense. Let that monkey touch a Truth-Seeking Orb and see what's left of him. Don't be ridiculous.
Qi Yuan Slash could pierce even Madara's Susanoo. Cutting through Enma's defense was merely a formality—especially now that Hui's senjutsu research had evolved.
Three years of experimentation with natural energy had dramatically enhanced every technique in his arsenal. A more advanced Qi Yuan Slash had become an unstoppable weapon.
He sneered.
Hmph. Sarutobi, let's see how much your heart bleeds for your partner now. If you don't stop me, I'll split Enma right in half next.
Tsunade was near. He could sense it.
One last move—end this.
Without acknowledging the battered Third Hokage, Hui disappeared in a blur, utilizing the propulsion technique mid-air to retain momentum.
In an instant, he appeared before Danzo Shimura.
His kunai, now extended several meters with sharpened water chakra, was poised to cleave.
Danzo, restrained and buried waist-deep in the swamp, had to rely on wood-style chakra control alone to counter.
"Mokuton: Cutting Technique!"
Sharp wooden spears burst from the ground, aimed at Hui. But he slashed through without hesitation.
The blade erupted with chakra, forming a blinding arc.
Danzo's eyes widened.
He'd gambled on hesitation. On defense. But Hui wasn't hesitating.
The blue light cleaved Danzo cleanly from the right shoulder to the left hip, splitting his body in two.
But he wasn't dead—yet.
Senju Hashirama's cells were sustaining him. Even halved, he clung to life.
Hui frowned. Should've gone for the head…
At the last moment, Danzo had twisted, and the blade missed his heart.
A few wooden thorns pierced Hui's body—but he ignored them. With chakra surging through his veins, he forced the foreign chakra out, then casually cut off the embedded wood with his kunai.
At that moment, Tsunade arrived.
Her eyes scanned the battlefield—and her heart trembled.
The Third Hokage was beaten and pale. Enma groaned, bleeding out. Danzo… was in two pieces.
Only Hui stood tall, nearly unscathed.
Tsunade's jaw clenched.
I was only a little late… how did this escalate so quickly?
She looked at Fugaku—who stood off to the side, his presence purely observational. He hadn't interfered. This meant only one conclusion:
Hui had done all of this alone.
She glanced at him. There was a wound on his side—a penetrating injury—but it was already closing. The green glow of cellular regeneration shimmered faintly.
Her brow twitched.
Medical ninjutsu. Self-regeneration. Even... senjutsu?
Was this… what she once dreamed of?
Hiruzen had always been her mentor. Under normal circumstances, she would be furious. But when her gaze drifted to Danzo—still emanating that familiar chakra—and the lingering traces of Wood Style that hadn't yet faded, her fury turned to cold silence.
Hashirama's cells… again.
Her stomach churned.
Her phobia of blood—once so crippling—didn't activate. There was no trembling. No nausea. Nothing.
Even in this sea of blood… I feel nothing?
Tsunade didn't realize it immediately, but the trauma rooted in Nawaki's death had finally begun to fade. Seeing him alive and well again in the past had mended something deep within her.
She looked at Danzo again.
"You implanted Grandpa's cells again. Did you know, Sensei?"
Her voice was quiet. Ominously so.
Hiruzen avoided her eyes, but said nothing. His silence was answer enough.
Tsunade's expression darkened.
"You should be done now, Hui," Hiruzen muttered hoarsely. "Danzo… has paid the price. There's no need to continue."
The Third Hokage managed a weak, bitter smile.
He had never expected Hui—the so-called assistant of Orochimaru, barely shadow-level a year ago—to grow into such a monster.
He's beyond even Kage-tier now...
Mastery over all five chakra natures. Near-invincible taijutsu. Senjutsu. Flight. Regeneration.
Ridiculous.
Hiruzen chuckled bitterly.
He'd been completely, utterly outclassed.
