The walk over to the Demon King's palace was, well, rough. The number of demons there was just crazy, and for all of them to hate Lilith, it was even crazier.
Obviously, she might not have had a good track record because of her past. Notably, when she got exiled. But he thought that after so many years, the track record had faded and they saw her for who she was.
Not to mention, he had half expected the Demon King's words to actually mean something. If he chose someone, didn't that mean that certain someone was powerful enough to warrant the Demon King's respect?
Even if that someone was the Demon King's child, what difference did it make? They were powerful, and that was all that damn mattered.
