Chapter 104 - The Fundraiser

" I swear Chi Chi if that bug bothers me at all today I will set his place on fire", said Rash.

She was getting ready for yet another wastage of money good for nothing party.

It was the day of the Fundraiser and she was already on the edge.

" Y.you k.keep your d.distance from him", said a worried Chanchal." Will you be alright"?

Shaun coughed. He sat there mostly invisible but couldn't help a reaction now.

" Shaun just say it. You won't hurt her if you speak", said Rash. " Seriously", she raised her hands in air.

" I thought that the question that she should ask is whether Malhotra will be alright", said Shaun. " Why is Jeet dragging you in it"?

" He wants me to meet Mr. Gandhi. Plus good way to network", she shrugged.

" Kash is his date. Hope you are fine with it", said Chanchal.

Rash rolled her eyes.

Chanchal was not going. She was feeling a little sick after she came back from hospital. She pressed her head and closed her eyes.

" Rest", said Shaun softly. " I can arrange a nurse if you want". He rose to leave.

Chanchal looked at him. He was in pain. She still couldn't speak.

She signed to him.

" Stay please"...

Shaun froze. She was communicating.

Rash got a message from Jeet.

" At the front door. Not coming in. Please hurry up ".

" Okay then I take my leave. Take care you two. Bye babes", she kissed Chi Chi on face and hugged Shaun and left.

" Do you want to draw", asked Shaun.

She nodded. Shaun got her a sketch pad and colours. They sat in silence as she drew.

Meanwhile

Rash and Jeet were in his car.

" Guru", she queried.

" Coming with his folks and Dillu", he said.

She nodded.

Jeet gave her a couple of names.

" Chauhan. He is my education minister and this is Bhairav the sports one. Get introduced to them. Later keep an eye", he said.

" You have doubts", she asked.

" Nothing in preliminary investigations. But we are digging", he replied.

She nodded.

Meanwhile

" If she breathes in my direction I quit", said Viru to Zeeshan.

" Me and Guru are both worried. Shaun messaged me she told him she will set your place on fire".

" And you are getting that time bomb in", cried Virat. " What is Jeet thinking"?

" You know the assh*le. His every aim in life is to torture us all mentally", said Zeeshu angrily.

" Viru", a soft voice came.

They saw Kash approaching with two drinks.

" Hey darling", Viru hugged him.

"Hey", he nuzzled.

" Hey Kash", greeted Zeeshu.

" Hey", he waved. " I heard Rash is coming too", he said naughtily.

" Nightmare ", Viru closed his eyes. Zeeshan told him what she told to Shaun.

Viru grimaced again

" You relax. I won't let her. We shall be fine", said Kash. " Now let's get back to the party. Zeeshu Guru has arrived. He was asking for you".

" Thanks man", he said.

All of them moved.

Kash spotted Rash and Jeet as soon as they entered. He hurried towards them.

" Hello Chief Minister", he greeted. " Hey there grumpy lady".

" Please Kash. I am trying to prevent a homicide here", said Jeet.

" Guru and Zeeshu are in the front hall near the chandelier ", he informed. He waved a hand.

" Rash breath in and breath out. Once we are done with the formalities we have food and leave ", said Jeet. " Pray uneventfully ", he whispered.

Rash inhaled and exhaled. Then she nodded to Jeet.

He left.

" You come here", said Kash. " I am dying to give you news".

" About what", she asked.

" Those copycat dresses", he said.

Her eyes lit up.

" Tell me", she said.

" Look at this", he said.

" That is an Arabic princess. I just knew the name", she tried.

" Princess Hurain of one of the Emirates monarchy ", provided Kash.

" Oohh yeah absolutely. That is her wedding reception to Greek royalty Alexander 3 or 4", she said.

" Yeah but look at the dress beyach", he said.

" The dre..ohh Original Mayuri Mehra. This is one of a kind piece", she said.

" Yes bright green and peacock blue. All the jewellery pieces are original too. Right upto the brooch she wears", he said.

" And she copied it", asked Rash

" Hmmm", he said. " And Papa got the copycat dress from a thrift store babes. I'll bring it over to unclle's place and we can start from there", he said.

" Love you Diva. You rock", said Rash.

Kash made a lot of celebratory faces. 😍😙🥳🤩

Meanwhile

" Where did you leave her", asked Guru in horror.

" Relax she is with Kaul", said Jeet.

" Thank the f*ck", said Zeeshu. " If anyone can handle her it's him.

" Did Reena Kulkarni arrive", ask Jeet.

" Yeah", nodded Zeeshu.

" She is over there", said Guru. " Gosh that waiter could not be more than twenty. But hey at least a f*cking adult ".

He stared angrily at his stepmother.

" What happened ", asked Guru.

" I don't know. But she is up to something ", he said. " She is smiling that fake smile of hers."

" Concentrate on Kulkarni", said Jeet . "Qureshi Chauhan", he nodded.

" Yes chief".

" Walia come", he said.

Meanwhile.

Mr. Gandhi was in discussion vwith city's top two business personnel.

He was here primarily for raising funds.

" SS enterprises can invest you know ", said one of them. " I have connections with Singhania. He is a big player. But you know that money is not clean. Will Lalwani agree"?

" Fortunately I am in charge of the financial aspects of the party. And I am fine with a financial push. You can have the SEZ zone in the outskirts ", he said.

" Thank you sir", he replied.

" I am just worried about the union bullying ", said another one.

" Take the funds from the sitting MLA", said Mr. Gandhi. " For now you need them happy and on your side. Do not let the red gang sway them".

" You know the business and corporate votes are in favour of Lalwani. Spending is not a problem. So you want everything above the table", he asked.

" Cash yes", he said. " Kind we can adjust ", he said

" Done deal Gandhi. I don't want an unfriendly opposition in power", said the first one

" Let's mobilize the funds immediately ", said the second one. " Who is the candidate "?

" Mrs Reena Kulkarni ", said Mr. Gandhi.

" Aah the army widow. Winning hand Gandhi", said the first one.

" Let's hope so", he said.

Meanwhile

" Reena", greeted Jeet warmly.

" Mr. Oberoi", she was polite. " Mr. Walia", she greeted respectfully.

" Guru is fine Reena", he said smiling brightly.

Victor noted the exchange between them.

" Victor I am announcing her candidacy from our constituency today. Deepak sends his best wishes", Jeet said.

" Congratulations ", said Guru.

" Thanks. I shall be happy to serve", she said.

" Enjoy the party ", said Jeet.

" Reena a dance", asked Guru.

She looked at her father who nodded.

" I'll find my wife too before she causes a Tsunami ", said Jeet.

" But she suits you", said Reena

" That she does my fireball", he smirked and left.

Guru and Reena chatted animatedly as they danced. An idea was getting hold in Victor's mind. He saw old Mr. Walia and moved towards him

Kitty's only mission in this fundraiser was digging information.

Chauhan came with his wife. He was a strict no no.

She concentrated on Bhairav.. She deliberately collided with him.

" Oohhh I am so so sorry. I am new to all this".

Bhairav looked at the young girl in her early twenties. She was a fish completely out of water.

" I have never seen you before beautiful", he laid a trap. " Are you knew"?

" I am a theater actress", she said softly looking down. " Mr. Malhotra sponsors our play ".

Aah an actress. Easy prey thought Bhairav.

" Mr. Mr.."

" Bhairav Raichand", he gave a hand. She took it with hands trembling.

He was getting laid today thought Bhairav.

" A dance", he said

" But sir", she said

As an apology ", he raised a brow.

" Okay" she said looking uncomfortable.

He guided her with a hand on her back.

Caught the fish he thought.

Kritika smiled inwardly.

Who caught whom?

The party was a success and Virat relaxed. He danced with Kas and other girls. Rash danced with Jeet, Zeeshu and Guru.

Kitty also was networking well.

But the drama was not far away....

" NOOOOOO. LEAVE ME...I DON'T WANT THIS. THIS IS DIRTY".

A piercing scream tore the party as a dishevelled person ran in the midst of it and collapsed.
