"Jason Vicks?" Berlin whispered in shock.
Jason stood there, smiling even though he was caught. "Hello, Berlin. I was wondering when you'd figure it out."
"But... but you were kind to me," Berlin said, her mind spinning. "You helped me when I was hurt. You gave me advice. You..."
"Played my part perfectly?" Jason finished. "Yes, I know. I'm quite good at pretending."
Karlos stepped forward, his face dark with rage. "Why? Why did you do all this?"
Jason laughed. "Why? Because your family destroyed mine!"
"What are you talking about?" Karlos demanded.
"My real name isn't Jason Vicks," Jason said. "It's Jason Blackwood. Does that name ring a bell?"
Berlin saw Karlos's face go pale.
"Blackwood," Karlos repeated. "As in..."
"As in the Blackwood family that your father destroyed twenty years ago," Jason said. "Your father stole our company, ruined our reputation, and drove my father to suicide. My mother died shortly after from a broken heart. I was only ten years old."
