Chapter 489 - Chapter 489: Arrangements on the Eve of the Wedding

If anyone could be considered the busiest person in Konoha on the eve of Naruto's wedding, it was undoubtedly Kakashi Hatake.

As the Sixth Hokage, his responsibilities stretched far beyond ceremonial duties. He had to coordinate the entire village, ensure every detail of the wedding ran smoothly, and anticipate any potential problem before it could arise.

"Shizune," Kakashi began, glancing over the reports in his hands, "even though everyone will be attending Naruto's wedding tomorrow, the staff handling the preparations are still our villagers, including on-site service personnel. You need to oversee everything again to make sure nothing goes wrong.

"People will be busy celebrating Naruto getting married—but our responsibility is to guarantee that the ceremony itself proceeds without any mistakes."

Shizune nodded firmly. "Understood, Hokage-sama. I will take full responsibility and ensure everything goes smoothly."

Kakashi exhaled lightly and turned to Shikaku Nara. "Shikaku, all the daimyo and high-ranking officials from each country have been arranged?"

Shikaku adjusted his glasses and replied confidently, "Everything is in order. Once the representatives from the Five Great Shinobi Nations arrive, all daimyo and high-ranking officials from various countries will follow. Their accommodations have been arranged, and security is fully coordinated—Anbu units under Hokage's command are directly responsible for overseeing their safety."

Kakashi nodded, feeling a wave of relief. "Good. By the way, Shikaku, I'll need you to assist with hosting the foreign dignitaries tomorrow. I'll inform our village's daimyo and take some responsibility myself, accompanying them where necessary to show our hospitality."

Shikaku smiled knowingly. "Don't worry, Kakashi. When our daimyo heard about Naruto's wedding, they insisted on attending. I refused some on the grounds that too many high-profile guests could make the event chaotic. When the time comes, I'll give the official greetings to the visiting dignitaries."

Kakashi's lips curved into a faint, bitter smile. "And the daimyo were okay with that?"

Shikaku nodded. "Happily. They understood perfectly."

"That's good." Kakashi exhaled, then turned to Yamanaka Inoichi and Choji. "Tomorrow, you two will handle greeting the major families in our village. Make sure everyone is properly received."

Choji patted his belly with a grin. "No problem! Naruto, Minato's son, is getting married—how could I refuse? I'll make sure the guests are well looked after!"

Yamanaka Inoichi, meticulous as always, nodded. "I'll handle the seating arrangements and gifts for visiting families. Everything will be accounted for."

After giving these instructions, Kakashi finally turned to Ichiraku Ramen. "Uncle, I'm sorry to ask, but the shop will need to be closed tomorrow for Naruto's wedding."

Ichiraku waved his hand dismissively. "Hahaha, Hokage-sama, you're joking. I've watched Naruto grow up. Being able to contribute to his wedding is an honor!"

Kakashi nodded. "Thank you, Uncle Ichiraku. You'll be in charge of catering the wedding banquet. I appreciate your help."

"Don't worry, Hokage-sama," Ichiraku replied warmly. "Leave it to me."

Because Konoha was short-staffed for catering, many people had been transferred from other villages. Proper coordination was essential to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Kakashi had also assigned Morino Hiki, head of the Anbu torture unit, to oversee the freshness and safety of all food ingredients. Even his presence demanded strict compliance—no one dared argue in front of him.

Once all these matters had been discussed, Kakashi adjourned the meeting and immediately rushed to the Five Kage Guest Room at the Konoha Guest House Hotel. The Kage had been waiting patiently for him.

As he entered, Kakashi bowed slightly. "Apologies for being late, everyone. I've been quite busy. Thank you for your patience!"

Tsuchikage Ohnoki smiled gently. "Hokage-sama, don't worry. Naruto isn't here yet."

Gaara, the Fifth Kazekage, nodded. "Yes, I haven't seen him either."

Temari Mei spoke softly, a small smile on her face. "On the night before a wedding, the couple must prepare properly. Naturally, they wouldn't be here yet."

Raikage A, ever boisterous, waved his hand. "Don't worry about them. Hokage-sama, let the waiter bring the wine—we'll start the celebration ourselves!"

Kakashi nodded and instructed the staff accordingly. Food and wine began arriving, meticulously prepared. Just as the arrangements were underway, the door swung open.

"Everyone, long time no see!" Naruto's familiar voice echoed in the room.

Gaara immediately rose to his feet. "Naruto!"

Naruto moved to Gaara, draping an arm around his friend's shoulders. "Gaara!"

They exchanged greetings as Naruto acknowledged the other Kage in turn. "Tsuchikage-sama, Mizukage-sama, Raikage-sama!"

Hinata Hyuga followed alongside Naruto, greeting each Kage as well. All responded warmly, impressed by the respect and politeness of the young couple.

Ohnoki smiled approvingly. "Naruto, you've chosen well. Hinata is not only the eldest of the Hyuga clan, she possesses both skill and poise. She will make a fine partner."

Hinata blushed slightly and replied politely, "Thank you, Ohnoki-sama, for your kind words."

Naruto laughed lightly. "It's only natural, Ohnoki-sama."

At that moment, Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki arrived, along with Tsunade Senju and Jiraiya, adding to the gathering.

Suddenly, the sound of shuffling feet and pushing reached their ears.

"Madara, just come along!"

"No, don't push me!"

Hashirama Senju, ever forceful, guided Madara into the room. Following them, Tobirama and Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, also appeared.

The presence of these legendary figures caused several of the assembled Kage, including Ohnoki, to rise and greet them respectfully.

"Shodai!" they chorused, acknowledging Hashirama. Even in the modern era, the name of the God of Shinobi carried immense weight.

Hashirama responded with a warm smile and a wave, gently guiding Madara to a seat. Madara, slightly embarrassed, complied. The room's atmosphere was tense; only Kakashi remained unaffected, being both familiar with and unafraid of these legends.

Everyone else, including Tsunade, Tsuchikage, Raikage, and Mizukage, maintained cautious respect for the presence of Madara. The weight of history loomed in the room, reminding all present of past conflicts and reconciliations.

Tobirama, observing the scene, muttered dryly, "It's unbelievable that one day, everyone will sit together like this."

Hiruzen chuckled, nodding. "All thanks to Naruto."

Naruto, understanding the tension, gestured for everyone to sit. "Come on, everyone, have a seat! Sit comfortably!"

Tsunade and Jiraiya took the seats beside Hashirama, with Madara reluctantly beside him. Tobirama sat next to Tsunade, while Hiruzen positioned himself next to Tobirama. Ohnoki followed, then Raikage, Mizukage, and Gaara.

Hinata, naturally, sat beside Naruto, with Kyuubi Minato and Kakashi rounding out the table.

As food and wine were served, Madara complained in his usual blunt tone, "Hashirama, I don't understand why we're sitting like this. I can't even eat properly."

Hashirama laughed heartily. "Relax, Madara. It's fine to just sit, enjoy the food, and laugh together."

Madara rolled his eyes, muttering under his breath about wasted effort. Tobirama, ever sharp, quipped, "It seems your techniques still need refining."

Madara glared. "Tobirama, stop meddling with forbidden arts!"

Tobirama smirked. "Without me, how could you even sit here and argue with me now?"

Madara huffed. "Do you think I care about your arts? I could simply reincarnate my own jutsu!"

Tobirama shook his head, amused. "Hmph, arrogant as ever."

Just as their exchange reached its peak, Hashirama raised his hand, signaling Tobirama to drop the conversation. Tobirama relented, quietly lowering his gaze.
