Chapter 380 - Exit

"Arghhh!"

Seeing the short dagger in Jack's hand, the black man's face became even more ferocious. With a roar, he lunged forward with his machete.

The sharp machete could cut a neck like butter, so he tried to use the length of his weapon to gain the advantage in this battle.

But Jack, on the other hand, instead of confronting his enemy head-on, tried to remain calm with his knife raised and slowly retreated.

As for the man with the machete, who seemed half-crazed, he swung his weapon frantically forward, but no matter how he slashed horizontally or vertically, none of his attacks could hit the target.

This feeling of helplessness could have a very negative effect, so the black man shouted with an ugly expression on his face, "You damn son of a bitch, stop running!"

"You're really stupid…"

In response to this kind of low-level provocation, Jack merely snorted coldly and ignored him completely. He only dodged the opponent's attacks and did not respond.

Seeing that the other party ignored him so thoroughly, the man with the machete became even more manic, and his offensive grew even more violent.

Watching the flashes of blades flying in front of him, there was no tension in Jack's eyes. Judging by his opponent's build, although he might have regular physical training, such a stupid attack could be seen even without systematic training.

The opponent was wasting so much energy that such an offensive couldn't last long. He only needed to wait on the defensive.

Sure enough, after several minutes of continuous attacks, Jack could clearly notice that the speed of the enemy's machete had slowed down.

The black man obviously also noticed that his physical strength was rapidly declining and that he might suffer a loss if he continued like this, so he planned to step back and rest first.

But at such a perfect moment, how could Jack give him the chance to retreat? As soon as he sensed his enemy pulling back, the dagger in his hand also began to swing rhythmically, attacking the opponent and revealing the hidden power of his blade.

Jack's sudden attack caught the black man by surprise. Seeing the stabbing dagger, he quickly swept it aside with his machete.

Boom! Crack!

When the machete and the dagger touched, there was a sharp sound of metal clashing, and sparks splashed out.

After all, the machete still had the advantage of size, and Jack only felt the hand holding the dagger go numb.

But he didn't care at all. Instead, he continued to harass his opponent. The dagger swung flexibly in his hand and advanced toward the enemy's chest.

Although the machete in the black man's hand had the advantage of length, it was extremely difficult to maneuver it at such a short distance.

Looking at the approaching dagger, an indescribable fear suddenly rose within him, and he quickly stepped back to try to avoid it.

But his movement was still a bit too slow, and the blade of the dagger rose along his left abdomen, cutting a gash more than ten centimeters long.

Immediately, a large amount of blood poured out of the wound. If he hadn't retreated in time, the knife might have caused all of the opponent's internal organs to spill out.

Covering the continuously bleeding wound, the black man no longer had the ferocity he showed at the beginning. Instead, he looked at the man who had been his enemy with a terrified expression. The fear of death made his body tremble uncontrollably.

He had no courage to fight at all. He turned around and ran toward the back, trying to escape as quickly as possible.

"If you come to kill people, you should know that those people can also kill you…"

Raising his eyebrows slightly and looking at the cowardly appearance of the other party, completely different from before, Jack muttered to himself. He walked a few steps after him, picked up the pistol of a dead rebel, aimed at the black man's back, and pulled the trigger.

Although he didn't have much energy left to assist with shooting, his own marksmanship wasn't bad. After aiming for a moment, he squeezed the trigger.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The bullets shot out from the muzzle of the gun, striking precisely the back of the black man, who hadn't run very far.

Thud!

Hit by a bullet from behind, the black man let out a scream and fell heavily to the ground, raising a cloud of dust before dying.

But at that very moment, a figure moved among the corpses, raised his pistol, aimed at Jack's back, and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

Bang, bang!

Jack, who felt the strong impact of the bullet hitting his back, lunged forward and, after turning his head, fired twice at his enemy.

Bang, bang!

After completely resolving the problem here, he took a few breaths and anxiously felt the condition of his back. Although it hurt like hell, it seemed that the bullets hadn't penetrated his armor. Jack tucked the pistol into his waist, then picked up a rifle from the ground and was about to go support Emma.

But before taking a few steps, he heard several footsteps approaching rapidly. He leaned against the back of the bunker and cautiously checked the situation there.

"Jack, it's us!"

Perhaps knowing that Jack might be nearby, one of them shouted Jack's name.

Hearing the familiar voice, Jack felt relieved. Then he slowly came out from behind the bunker and looked at the people approaching. Emma, along with another soldier and several others, came over.

"How are you? You don't look good!" Seeing that Emma was injured, Jack hurried to check her wound and asked with concern.

"Oh, it's fine, I can't die from something like this…!"

Leaning on her teammate, Emma raised her head with some difficulty, forced a smile, and said, "Even though I got shot, all of them lost their lives."

As she spoke, she glanced at a brand-new sniper rifle in someone's hand and said with a smile, "It's not like I don't have trophies…"

After carefully observing Emma's body for a while and confirming that there wouldn't be any major problems in the short term, Jack let out a sigh of relief.

"Alright, let's go now…"

"You're bleeding…"

"It's not mine…"

There was no time to ask how the others had arrived here. He led several people to the side of two adjacent military trucks and said, "If you want to survive, you have to take the vehicles and follow us. We don't know what will happen on the road, so just focus on moving forward."

"Yes, sir."

Knowing that time was urgent, they didn't say much. They only glanced at the two trucks full of supplies and quickly got in.

When Jack turned the key, the engine of the military truck roared to life.

Jack gripped the steering wheel tightly, looked toward the closed factory gate, and stomped hard on the accelerator.

The vehicle moved forward slowly, then its speed became faster and faster, and finally crashed into the not-so-sturdy factory buildings.

Boom!

The violent impact caused the gate to collapse, crushing a group of rebels fighting outside, and then the vehicle ran them over directly. As for whether any of them were still alive, only God knew.

After bursting out of the factory building, Jack had a clear view of what was happening outside.

It could be said that the entire community area was a disaster, with roars, screams, and gunfire mixed together. The rebels and the soldiers of this place were fighting together. A jeep with a heavy machine gun among them sprayed bullets indiscriminately. Scarlet blood soaked a large area, and death became the only dominant theme here.

Such a chaotic scene reminded Jack of the chaos that had happened a few months ago, and the situation here was even worse than that.

But after watching for a moment, he turned the steering wheel and drove toward the gate that led directly to the exit.

The military trucks advanced through the crowd amid flying bullets. Whether they encountered rebels, troops from this place, or any isolation barriers, they crushed them all without any sign of slowing down.

The commotion caused by the two military trucks naturally attracted the attention of everyone in the nearby area.

Seeing the military trucks running everyone over, the crowd turned their weapons and began firing wildly at the two vehicles.

Bullets crackled as they struck the truck bodies. Several bullets broke the locks, and the canvas covering the vehicles was completely blown away. The supplies inside also began to fall out along with the violent jolting of the vehicles.

The vehicles sped back and forth, and the bullets soon could no longer catch up with them. Naturally, neither the rebels nor the defenders of this place intervened. After all, the situation didn't allow it, so people on both sides began to fight each other again.

After passing through the last checkpoint leading to the outer gate of the area, Jack looked at the open gate ahead of him. The expression of joy on his face was obvious, and the last trace of worry in his heart completely disappeared.

Although he didn't know why the rebels had attacked this place so suddenly, he knew that there was an absolute disparity in numbers between the rebels and the government troops.

Therefore, Jack understood that the purpose of the soldiers here was to cut off their enemies to prevent them from taking control.

It could be said that this community was run by the military, so the Fireflies, having problems with the military, wanted to destroy this place in some way and take control.
