The next day, Primrose did not wake up until noon.
At first, she thought Edmund had already left their chamber to deal with his work. After all, as the King of Noctvaris, he always had something waiting for him.
However, when she slowly opened her eyes and turned her head, she realized that he was still lying right beside her.
"Good morning, my wife," Edmund greeted her softly.
Primrose blinked sleepily at him before stretching her whole body under the blanket. Then, without saying anything else, she rolled toward Edmund and wrapped her arms around him.
"It's not even morning anymore," she murmured against his chest.
Edmund had cleaned her up while she was sleeping, but somehow, Primrose could still smell his familiar scent lingering on her body. It only made her want to stay in his arms a little longer.
Edmund happily returned her embrace. One hand slowly rubbed her back while the other gently patted her, almost as if he were trying to put her back to sleep.
