It was Daxton Lancaster who took her to the hospital, without notifying any other members of the Lancaster Family.
The parents received the news the next day. Although dissatisfied with their daughter-in-law, they still had to go through the motions. At noon, the mother-in-law, Lorelei Howard, came to the hospital to visit.
Lorelei Howard carried two nylon bags filled with oranges and apples, and as soon as she sat down, she began to reproach displeasedly.
"Violet, how could you be so careless, tripping over in your own home? You're lucky you married into the Lancaster Family and don't have to work in a factory. If you were working outside, who knows what you'd do to yourself!"
Violet Zimmerman lowered her eyelids without speaking, the bitterness in her heart known only to her.
Her forehead was wrapped in gauze; her arm was slung in front of her chest, and the fingers of her right hand unconsciously picked at the sheets beneath her.
