"Did the drink you just had make you feel unwell?" Mabel Quinn asked again.
Kyle Kinston remained silent, but this silence only confirmed her suspicion. She remembered that he used to have some stomach issues, and it was probably the drink upsetting his stomach that was making him uncomfortable.
"You should sit in the living room for a bit. I'll make you a soothing drink for your stomach," Mabel said. While Kyle was still in a daze, she reached out and took his arm, leading him back to the living room.
He followed her steps in a daze until they returned to the living room, where he saw the little one still playing with the newly made wind chime. Kyle suddenly whispered, "Don't let Ivy know."
He didn't want his daughter to know that his discomfort was due to the drink.
Mabel turned and glanced thoughtfully at Kyle, then replied in a low voice, "I understand."
