Chapter 8 - The Terrified Principal and the Goofy Guy

Lee's eyes fluttered open, his head throbbing with a dull ache that quickly intensified into a full-blown panic attack. He was on a surprisingly comfortable lap—a lap he knew. His gaze snapped shut immediately. He was terrified to look up. Why? Because the owner of the aforementioned lap, the one who had apparently been cradling his head during his unconscious snooze, was none other than Principle Nana, the stern-faced, perpetually high-strung head of their academy.

Oh, good gravy, Lee's internal monologue screamed. Did I drool? Please, tell me I didn't drool on the Principal's fancy silk skirt. That's a minimum of three weeks of detention!

Gathering every ounce of courage, Lee finally forced his eyes open. The first thing he saw wasn't a scowl, but a pair of wide, terrified eyes—Nana's eyes. They were fixed on him with an intensity that made his stomach flip. She looked less like a strict headmistress and more like she'd just seen a ghost juggling chainsaws.

"Lee! You're awake!" Her voice was a shaky whisper, devoid of its usual commanding tone. "Tell me! Where is... where is the... the Chain Lady? The one who spoke to you six days ago? The one who looked like a cosmic goth queen?"

Lee blinked, thoroughly confused. "The... the who now? Chain Lady? Is that a new super-villain in town? Because I definitely didn't catch that movie trailer."

He shook his head, trying to clear the magical fog. "No, Principle. It's... it's Hanabi I talk to. She's my... uh... spiritual life coach." He gave a nervous, goofy grin. "Do you think I'm crazy? The last time you saw me on campus, there was no 'omnipotent feeling' like you say. No world-shaking auras! So please, for the love of all that is holy and fluffy, tell me what happened!"

A tiny, mischievous voice echoed in his mind, courtesy of his ethereal companion. ("Psst, Lee. Is it okay to spill the cosmic beans? Just checking on the whole 'non-disclosure agreement' thing, you know?")

Lee mentally relayed the question to Hanabi. ("Hanabi, should I blab? The Principal looks like she's about to faint or spontaneously combust.")

Hanabi's reply was surprisingly casual. ("Relax, sweet potato. It's totally fine. She's been following us from day one when we reached this plane. The chocolate bar you devoured yesterday? She was the one who slipped it into your bag. A little surveillance snack!")

Lee gasped internally. A spy-chocolatier!

"Okay, Principal Nana," Lee announced with a dramatic sigh, "permission to disclose classified celestial information has been granted."

"Oh, just get on with it, you ridiculous boy!" Nana huffed, crossing her arms, though her eyes betrayed her fear.

"Right! Hanabi, display the tattoo space on my hand!" Lee dramatically rolled up the sleeve of his shirt, showcasing his perfectly normal, unblemished forearm.

Then, with a sudden surge of power that felt like a bolt of ice water running under his skin, a tattoo emerged. It wasn't a silly decal; it was a swirling, intricate symbol of a closed eye, drawn in pure black Mana. The air in the room grew heavy and cold, thick with an undeniable, primordial energy.

Principle Nana's jaw dropped. She visibly recoiled, her composure shattering. "Wha—what is this?! You don't have a tattoo sign birthright! How, Lee?! How can this be?! When I checked your body while healing you—" she clamped her mouth shut, her cheeks flushing a deep red at the admission—"there was no mark! But how, and why does it have such a strong, powerful presence?!"

As she rambled, the black tattoo began to subtly fade, retreating back into Lee's essence. Nana, in a flurry of panic, started firing off a list of non-stop questions: Who is Hanabi? What is she? Are you a demon host? Did you sign a contract? Do you need an exorcism? Should I call your parents?!

Lee, following a sudden, powerful mental instruction from Hanabi, cut her off. He quickly, yet gently, picked up her hand—a move that was so bold it was almost comical—and placed it squarely over his beating heart.

The world dissolved.

Principle Nana opened her eyes to an entirely different reality: a Majestic Palace standing on the edge of a vast, star-dusted sea. The climate was an eternal, gentle night, bathed in the glow of a thousand distant nebulae. Her gaze was drawn to a colossal creature—a Dragon with Nine Heads—its eyes, each the size of a small car, looking directly down at her.

The dragon's voice boomed in her mind, laced with an ancient, chilling power. "Why do you follow us? And why have you not revealed your protective surveillance until now, mere mortal?"

Terrified, Nana didn't scream or run. Instead, she stood tall and whispered, "It's... it's to protect him. I followed him after all... he is my student."

The dragon's voice, Hanabi's true voice, resonated with deep, chilling hatred. "Do you think I am going to believe such a simplistic, sugary lie?" The dragon scoffed. "You who think of him as a relation, right? But the thing you don't understand is... he is—"

The colossal form of the Nine-Headed Dragon shimmered, shrinking, transforming. In its place stood a being of magnificent light: a beautiful woman, an Emperor with stunning, ethereal beauty, radiating raw power—Hanabi's true Human Form.

She gently called Lee into the Mind Space. "Sweetheart," Hanabi said, her tone softening to one of regal affection, "I've had a little chat with Nana. She wants to look after you and train you. How quaint. So, I've agreed to allow you to be together with her and train under her surprisingly capable wing." She turned to Nana, a challenging glint in her eyes. "Well, Principle Nana, now that you've seen the real me, what do you think of my offer? Still game for a tutoring session?"

Nana, who had just been face-to-face with a creature of cosmic power, swallowed hard. Fearfully, she managed a tiny, shaky, "Y-yes." But she quickly gathered her courage. "But before I go, I have to ask you one question, Hanabi."

"Oh, I only want to hear and ask you one," Hanabi retorted, a playful, yet dangerous smirk on her face.

Lee, seeing the escalating tension, stepped in. He looked at Hanabi with a fond, reassuring gaze. "I will leave for now, Empress," he said, using her true title, "but please, look after the Principal." And with a nod, Lee departed the Mind Space, leaving the two powerful women to their tense negotiation.

"Who," Nana asked, her voice regaining a thread of its old steel, "is that chained woman? And what is her purpose? She told me to 'protect the boy named Lee'. Why? What exactly is he?"

Hanabi leaned in, her eyes shining like distant stars. "It's not a matter a mere mortal, even a formidable one such as yourself, can handle yet. There will be a time you will naturally know the answer. And when that time comes, I want to see how you answer. I want to see if your current bravery holds up."

With a sudden, dismissive wave of her hand—a gesture that felt like a playful, yet final, smack—Hanabi kicked her out of the Mind Space.

Lee was waiting in the real world, looking quite bored, when Nana suddenly appeared, gasping for air, her hair slightly askew, and a single, ridiculous leaf inexplicably stuck to the back of her head.

Lee stared at her dramatic entrance, an overly goofy, slightly judgmental expression on his face.

"Principle," he said, dramatically pointing a finger at her. "Why are you here? Is this some new form of extreme student monitoring? And more importantly," he lowered his voice to a conspiratorial whisper, his eyes twinkling with mischievous playfulness, "what in the name of the Headmaster's toupee did you mean by searching through my body while I was... unconscious? Were you checking for homework? Did you at least polish my nose?"

Nana simply stared at him, her lips trembling, the terror of the cosmic confrontation mixed with the sheer awkwardness of his question swirling in her eyes. The Principal had seen nine dragon heads, and yet this simple, playful question was the one that truly left her speechless.

Special information :

Soul Seal (Passive & Active)Description:

A transcendent ability that defies conventional power structures, the Soul Seal grants its wielder dominion over fate itself. This ability allows the user to inscribe an unbreakable seal upon a target's soul, binding their existence to the wielder's will. Unlike ordinary restrictions, the Soul Seal disregards the opponent's level, rank, or power, ensuring absolute enforcement once the conditions are met.

Effects & Conditions:Seal Effect (Active):

Can completely suppress, bind, or restrain a target, rendering them unable to act against the wielder's command.

If fully activated, it can permanently imprison, weaken, or even erase the target's presence from existence.

The seal remains inactive until specific conditions—determined at the time of casting—are fulfilled.

Seal Activation (Passive Trigger):

Once the predetermined condition is met, the seal automatically activates, regardless of the target's awareness, resistance, or power level.

The condition varies depending on the situation and is influenced by the wielder's will. Some examples include:

"If the opponent attempts to kill me, the seal will activate."

"If the opponent betrays me, their power will be sealed."

"If the opponent's heart wavers in loyalty, they will be unable to move."

"If the target's soul harbors malice, their strength will be drained."

No Mana Consumption (Intelligence Stat Exemption):

Unlike most sealing techniques, the Soul Seal does not consume mana and is instead fueled by the user's willpower and dominion over fate.

As a result, even in a mana-deprived state, the user can still activate this ability effortlessly.

Higher-tier Sealing (Unawakened Potential):

Certain high-level beings may resist the initial effects of the seal, but they cannot escape it indefinitely.

If the user fully awakens the Soul Seal, even divine or otherworldly entities will be unable to resist its grasp.

This power can eventually overwrite existing contracts, curses, and divine decrees, bending reality itself.

Flair & Appearance:

When the Soul Seal is activated, the user's eyes turn a piercing blue, glowing with an ethereal light that signifies the absolute enforcement of their will.

A rune-like sigil appears over the target's chest, forehead, or limbs, resembling ancient chains wrapping around their soul.

The intensity of the seal's glow determines its binding strength. Once fully sealed, the target's body may even manifest phantom chains, signifying complete subjugation.

"This is not just a restriction. It is sovereignty over existence itself."
