The cave dwellers screamed and were driven back.
Brand quickly found himself facing the regular troops of the Jogen Digan that had been driven back. They formed a line and tentatively thrust their long spears at him with their rather weak forelimbs—but to be honest, it was hard to call it an effective attack. Brand easily swept aside these inferior spears, split the wall of bodies with a sword, and dispersed them again.
The first line of cave dwellers scattered again after leaving five frost-covered corpses, and the defensive line melted like snow. Brand advanced further, but he soon saw more cave dwellers being driven back. Thanks to the time bought by their comrades, these creatures had already calmed down after a short period.
The cave dwellers had started to react.
"Lord," Qian whispered, intending to tell him that the separated cave dwellers behind them had started to surround them.
Brand didn't have to look back to know what was happening.
