Horak's actions and the Dwarf's muttering made Xia Nan seem to realize something.
When he looked more closely at the pink Jadestone, its dazzling appearance, which seemed like a condensed brilliance in his memory, dissipated silently.
Only a small, ordinary pink gemstone remained, about the size of a fingernail.
"Could it be that..."
Xia Nan had a guess in his mind.
He reached out and grabbed the gemstone in his hand, palm up, and proactively handed it across the table back to Horak.
"Why are you still standing there? Why not take it back."
"Don't want it anymore?"
With a subtle probing tone, Xia Nan said to the merchant.
"No... I don't know..." Horak took the gemstone in a daze from Xia Nan, yet he did not hurry to put it back in his jewelry box, but held it between his fingers, scrutinizing it through the glow of the setting sun.
The expression on his face gave the impression of "Did I really come all this way just for this?" and "What was I thinking at that moment!?"
