An Yin almost couldn't control her emotions and nearly let out a sob, but luckily she covered her mouth in time, preventing any sound from escaping.
"What did you say? I didn't hear it clearly?" The man spoke softly, as if treating her like a child, with a tenderness that was absurd.
An Yin put down her hand, took a small sip of milk tea, trying to calm herself down.
"I might have dialed the wrong number; I was originally trying to call my dad." To disguise her real voice, An Yin spoke slowly with a pinched voice.
The other end of the line was silent for a few seconds before he said, "You indeed have the wrong number."
An Yin feared he would hang up, so she mumbled, "Can you not hang up?"
"Why?"
The man's voice had a cold undertone.
An Yin cautiously spoke, "I feel like your voice sounds a lot like my dad's."
