Shad Darc stood there as if he had accepted the judgement of death bestowed upon him by the oversized cat only to dodge at the last moment inches away from death.
Just as the oversized creature claw was about to cleave Shad Darc in half he almost instantly made move as if he was about to dive beneath the oversized cat but the giant cat also reacted almost instantly as it tried to defend itself from being ambushed once again from below as it shifted backwards giving enough distance so as that Shad Darc would not be able to move beneath it and pierce it from below it then immediately proceeded to bite the position at which it thought Shad Darc would have been reacting purely based on instinct and the experience it had earlier on.
Shad Darc had guessed that the creature would react that way that was why he waited until the last moment to make that move so that he can make it as believable as possible so as the oversized cat would not suspect anything considering that it had some sense of intelligence but then even with it intelligence it was still an animal and animals mainly moved on instinct when threatened which was what he used against it, it own instinct and maybe experience it had earlier on when it underbelly was being pierced.
But it was already to late for the oversized cat to react again because what it thought would happened and what happened were entirely two separates things because what happened next completely caught it of guard.
From the moment it thought the little thing was going to stab it as it first did which lead it to instinctively protect itself from such was the moment it messed up well not really messed up but rather was caught in an inescapable trap set by Shad Darc.
While thinking Shad Darc was attempting to dive beneath it, it no longer thought of anything else but to save itself from what was to come which was the right thing to do only that the Little thing had other plans for it.
The moment Shad Darc acted as if he wanted to go slid beneath it prompting the oversized cat to defends itself for the attack Shad Darc forcefully stopped his body from sliding further just before the oversized cat brought its head low in attempts to reap the little thing apart Shad Darc immediately jumped at that position onto the creature's head using it as step he then proceeds and climb all the way to its back precisely at the point where it neck connected with its back without wasting a single moment he channeled his energy flow onto the giant snake fangs which he was now holding even though the control wasn't that good it was enough for Shad Darc at the moment as he brought the fang down with all his might into the creature neck he was meet with the same resistance as before but he didn't mind as he forced it into the creatures neck forcing the fang to break in the process.
The moment the fang was thrust into the oversized cat neck it let out chilling cry as if in great pain because it was in lot of pain after all it began thrash and moved wildly sending Shad Darc away from its body Shad Darc then fell on his right hand which made him grimace in pain but didn't let any sound out, holding out the second dagger he then charged in to finished it once and for all.
He charged in while aiming at the left kneel joints of the creature but the creature also reacted almost instantly as it brought it right paw in hopes of smashing the annoying little thing seeing this Shad Darc then outstretched his left hand while still holding the giant snake fang he channeled his energy flow once more into it even though it was difficult to do and then thrust it at the incoming blow and "Boo om" they collided his fang and the oversized cat paw connected with so much force such that Shad Darc was sent flying in the opposite direction while the oversized cat left limb was severely damaged.
Shad Darc was temporary out by the shock of the impact but then regain his sense in just a short he stood up albeit barely he forced himself to walk to where the oversized cat was because he needed to finished it for good this time as he was sure the damn thing was still alive.
As he walked towards the direction of the oversized cat his body arched so bad that it felt as it could give out on him at any given moment he was so beaten with bruises all over his body bones broken and dislocated with blood all over his body but he couldn't rest until he make certain that oversized cat is dead.
He walked by dragging his feet as he approached it he saw the oversized cat there on the ground as it was still alive well barely alive it left l Iimb was seriously damaged while it was bleeding from it neck the blood staining its gray fur it was bleeding from below his underbelly but it wasn't that serious compare to the injury on it left limb its neck .
Shad Darc then stared at it his mind empty of thoughts he then searched around for the second horn as it fell off somewhere while fighting the oversized cat eventually he saw it and went straight to picked it up only to noticed that even his left hand is now damaged though not as bad as the right he still felt pain while trying to pickup the short horn.
Gritting his teeth a midst the pain he somehow manage to pick it up looking at the horn he saw that it now had cracks all over it but that didn't matter because this will be the last time Shad Darc would use it after all.
Turning his head back he saw that the oversized cat was quietly looking at him with pain written all over it face as it struggled to stand up but failed because the pain he was feeling at his neck was just to much.
The giant cat still couldn't believe what had happened to it as it never expected the little thing to be this strong if only it had known it would have let the little thing to go but now it was going to die because of its own arrogance it watched as it saw the little thing barely walking towards it in order to finish it off after a short while the little thing was standing in front of it.
Shad Darc somehow manage to reach the oversized cat struggling to raise the horn up while aiming to pierce its eyes straight to its brain he then stopped mid action as he saw regrets and sorrow in the creature's eyes as if to say it was sorry for its action.
Shad Darc wasn't particularly one to feel strong emotions on someone or anything talk more or less of a creature that almost killed him.
In fact what made him to stop was because of the sincerity in the eyes of the creature what he felt from looking at the creature eyes was nothing but one last chance to live which Shad Darc readily accepts because one of his principals is that don't kill except absolutely necessary and he dimmed it to not be absolute necessary to kill the oversized cat for now that is.
Seeing the sincerity in the creature eyes Shad Darc smiled and said "but under the conditions that you will be my guard dog from now on"
With that Shad Darc fell down while still holding the damaged horn his body completely gave out on him closing his eyes he saw the oversized cat reaching out to him with it right limb as it draw Shad Darc closer to itself while covering him with it huge body.
Seeing this Shad Darc eyes completely closed while whispering "thank you"
he feel into a deep sleep.
