*What did they say they wanted again?*
Kenneth for the life of him could not remember.
He had actually forgotten what his front yard looked like, but it definitely didnt look like this, the sun had refused to come out, and hid itself behind a cluster of clouds like it was hiding from someone he owed money.
The ground was scattered with dried brown leaves that had fallen from the trees in the compound, as well as the flowers being overgrown and in desperate need of a trim. the garden was overrun by weeds at every nook and cranny of the surroundings. nobody had called the gardener to take care of it, that was Dad's routine.
the weather forecast predicted a sunny day but seems they were wrong, albeit for the first time as the weatherman is famously never wrong.
The Darlingtons had a driver on stand by for every journey to be taken, but they had relieved him of his duties ever since Jonah's death, kenneth had to walk to school this time around, he could have probably taken the bus, but he was absent minded.
*good morning young man*
he looked back
there was a tall figure right at his back, he wore a three piece suit and tie, a red tie, everybody else had expected a sunny weather so they had dressed up appropriately, in tank tops, shorts, loose clothing.
not this individual though, he appeared like someone who was on his way to a buisness meeting, a suit is not appropriate for a sunny day
he has different rings on his finger, so kenneth could tell that he was wealthy, or at least appeared to be.
kenneth took a sharp glance at the strange individual and kept on walking, completely ignoring the figure. he had looked down to avoid stepping on dog poop, on looking up he saw the same individual again.
having seen him a second time, he noticed that the individual was actually a man, although he had an androgynous look about him, he was both handsome and beautiful at the same time. as well dressed as he seemed, this dressing had some faults, his suit was a bit oversized on him, as well as having untied shoelaces
*good morning young man*
he said again
*your shoelaces*
*excuse me?*
*theyre untied*
*shoelaces? oh....yes...thank you*
he bent down to tie them, he had put one knee on the ground to do that, he made a lacklustre attempt at tying them and left them at that.
*are you kenneth Darlington*
oh god not another sympathizer
*yes*
*i heard about your father, im terribly sorry for your loss*
*t..thank you*
awkward silence
*clears throat* *well since you asked my name is "%#^&," ive been sent to you*
kenneth didnt catch the name
*by who*
*well.....associates of your father*
*i dont get it, what kind of ass-
*ive been tasked with bringing you to our headquaters*
*and if i dont want to go?*
*im afraid you cannot refuse, your father signed a contract *
as he began to bring out a piece of paper, kenneth took off
he hadnt gotten very far when the man appreared right in front of him, the last thing he saw was the man's hand raise up and beginning to glow a purple hue.
