Ye Xuan checked the time before telling Zhou Qiang, "Close the warehouses in the inner district. No one should be allowed to collect private property. Only food, medicine, water, weapons, and warm clothing will be taken."
Zhou Qiang looked uncomfortable. "Some people will refuse to leave without their belongings."
"Then they can remain."
"You would leave them behind?"
"We cannot risk thousands of lives because someone wants to pack furniture."
Chu Miao nodded in agreement. "The sofa has already caused enough trouble tonight."
Zhou Qiang looked between them before deciding that he still didn't want to know what had happened to the sofa.
The northern cameras suddenly flickered, filling the screens with static. When the images returned, the horde had moved much closer, and several mutated zombies had stopped beneath the first camera tower.
One creature bent down while another climbed onto its shoulders and ripped the camera from its mount.
The screen went dark.
